I have been advised by the retinal screening service that I have early evidence of damage to the retina consistent with my type 2 diabetes, which has been exacerbated by the prednisolone, and up until now controlled by diet (Bloods normal). I have been experiencing visual defects, like a migraine, but

Diabetes 2 or just insulin resistance...?
My GP has diagnosed me with diabetes 2 based on my latest lab results. I've been struggling with insulin resistance for a few years but previously managed to keep it under control (and lose weight) using berberine. In the past nine months, I've put on a lot of weight and have had incredible cravings

Eating Japanese sweet potatoes may lower blood sugar.
Hi everyone, This was in the news papers recently about Japanese sweet potatoes which are drier and creamier than regular sweet potatoes as they contain the extract caiapo, which's believed to lower blood sugar levels. Here's the Daily Express article: https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/1182361

HBV, HCC (18 months), Sorafenib, now Lung Nodules
My father, 64 years old, diagnosed with HCC 18 months ago and underwent TACE 3 times. HCC was stable and he was doing fine. Since a month, he started coughing regularly and the plain CT yesterday showed multiple nodules in the lungs. But he doesn't have any pain in the chest region. Although plain CT

Fish oil and cholesterol
I have been on what's labelled a "high quality fish oil for optimal heart health" (cod oil) for the past six months and taking the maximum recommended dose of two capsules daily. However, it seems to have done nothing for my triglyceride and cholesterol levels; my triglycerides came back out of range
