Onycholyosis and psoriatic arthritis
I went to my GP yesterday and she had never seen anything in her life like my nails. I suggested I had psoriatic arthritis as I stumbled upon similar photos as I searched google...yes I know....google and all that. Anyway I had onycholyosis last summer on 4 nails which grew out then about 3 weeks ago

Neulasta troubles
Hi Friends. My oncologist added Neulasta to my chemo regimen (Abraxane) because my counts have stayed high enough to have chemo on days one and eight, but then they tank, and I've had to wait a week to get the day 15 dose. It's been consistently that way since the first series. This last time he ordered

Pneumonia
About a week ago, dad started running a fever. They did some cultures and a sputum test. It came back that he had pneumonia and a UTI. So they started him on some antibiotics. He didn’t have much of a fever the last couple of days but then today he had another fever. It got as high as 101.8. His oxygen

Coping with a head cold
Does anyone have tips for coping with a head cold? I used to very much one to just get on with it but since diagnosis any minor Illness becomes a big deal. I have small children and a demanding job. Caught a cold off of the kids and I’ve hit a complete wall. Trying to listen to my body but it is so

Pneumonia vaccine
I’m normally a silent follower, great site. But I would be grateful for any thoughts/experiences regarding this vaccine. I keep getting reoccurring bouts of pneumonia and hospital admissions, and then the usual oral steroids and antibiotics Would there be merit in requesting the vaccine

Day 4 of no restless legs
I finally made an appt to see neurologist after 10 + years of RLS for the end of this month. Now, Its been four days without RLS. The only thing that I’ve changed is taking (2) Tumeric Cucumin 1600 mcg. I still am taking 1-1/2 50mg of tramadol at 9 pm & another 1-1/2 at 11pm. For the past 4-6 months

Loxo 305 + Venetoclax trial MRD Negative but with extras ....
Despite this being my 3rd treatment I’m usually quite well, however I’ve been feeling really unwell since March with Chronic Sinusitis, which developed into a bacterial infection, pneumonia and beginnings of sepsis. (Trial treatment was stopped for a week whilst I was in hospital) My Haematologist

Thrush treatment for BV?
Hi! So I had a positive test from the doctors for BV but was prescribed fluconazole (which I’m unable to take for other health reasons). The doctor then prescribed canesten pessary and cream thrush treatment (which I am also unable to take due to ongoing bleeding). Is it normal to be given thrush treatment

Pine bark extract supplement?
Has anyone tried a supplement with pine bark extract? The book Finally Focused highly recommends it. Just had a bad experience with Aderol after methylphenidate messed with my son’s sleep so I’m not really into this expensive trial & error method of drug experimentation. Of course supplements are expensive

HRT or Natural Treatment for perimenopause
Hi All I am weighing up my continued approach to managing perimenopause. At the moment I am on HRT (Oestrogel and Utrogestan) and have to say am still struggling with getting doseage right perhaps but in the meantime struggling with symptoms associated with perimenopause. I am seeing growing research

more about sleep
I am also taking ginger root and ginkgo bilboa (these for tinnitus) so maybe that has helped along with the gaba. Anyway the restless legs is about gone after years so I will keep on taking those 3 things!

Help! Asthma getting out of control?!?!
Hi everyone! I have eosinophilic asthma and was discharged by my consultant last year and to go back to him if things get out of control again. Here’s my dilemma...’out of control’ to my consultant means a low peak flow and the need to use steroids. But I have been coughing for the last two months...

ICU cough
Since my trachy was taken out in February 2000 I’ve had an ICU cough over time it got worse; because of the cancer risk I was sent for X-rays and fairly quickly followed by a CAT scan in November. It wasn’t cancer😀 but pulmonary fibrosis but they weren’t too sure whether it was caused by my methotrexate

How good is your sense of smell? For older adults, having a poor sense of smell may indicate a higher risk of pneumonia.
An acute loss of smell is one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19, but for two decades it has been linked to other maladies among them Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Now, a poor sense of smell may signify a higher risk of pneumonia in older adults, says a team of Michigan State University researchers
