I finally made an appt to see neurologist after 10 + years of RLS for the end of this month. Now, Its been four days without RLS. The only thing that I’ve changed is taking (2) Tumeric Cucumin 1600 mcg. I still am taking 1-1/2 50mg of tramadol at 9 pm & another 1-1/2 at 11pm. For the past 4-6 months nothing was working and I wouldn’t even try to fall asleep until 3,4, or 5 am & wake up at 8am for work. I’ve been an emotional zombie with lack of sleep & stress. Not sure if it’s Tumeric or what’s changed. I am female who just turned 50. Anyone else have luck with this? I’m so grateful & yet so scared it will stop working.

Day 4 of no restless legs
Enjoy being sympton free and in the moment. If it comes back that's when you can worry and rack your brain to recreate the magic.
Good to hear. What made you start the turmeric/cucumin?
Keep us posted as to whether the effect continues?
I went to Walgreens to get compression socks. I ended up looking at the RLS Natural remedies, cream, vitamins and I have been to see to Tumeric next to Magnesium and just took a chance. It’s the only thing that I’ve changed in the past two weeks. It took about a week or so to start. I STILL take my Tramadol so it’s not 100% but it helps with the augmentation.
So the vacation is over. The demon is back. I went to neurologist and he put me on Lyrica. This is beyond the worst thing in my life. This just can’t keep going on without relief. So disappointed.
Keep plugging away. Also, some doctors seem sort of righteous in what they think they know is best for you. It's a collaborative effort. Arm yourself with knowledge. Lots of it on this site. Bring someone with you that can help convey to the doctor how serious things are, especially if it's effecting you mentally. That really was helpful in my situation to have someone there as a witness to my suffering. Try the Lyrica see if it works. You should know fairly soon if something's working. If not, get back in touch with your doctor asap for adjustments or changes. I would have a standing appointment monthly until you get relief. "We" at this site, get how serious if can get. It does feels like life or death sometimes.
Thank you for your inspirational words, compassion, and inspiration. It is truly needed, which is one of the many reasons I am on this site. I know I am not alone in this and feel for everyone that is going through this with no relief. I told the neurologist that I cannot keep going on like this. I don't even try to fall asleep until 3,4, or 5 am and get up at 8-9 for work which is not healthy and effecting me mentally. Going off Zoloft was also his suggestion although I wonder how many people are not taking SSRI and still get RLS, I am going to reach out to another neurologist for a second opinion. Just have to spend hours searching for who to see that can help. I don't know if there is even a solution as so many on here are living the hell this causes. I'm trying to keep hopeful. I wish someone would figure this out once and for all.
Can I ask how your progress is doing with the turmeric supplements?
Hey Shel, Your name jumped off the page! Good to hear from you. I do have RLS In conjunction with my Pd. I use Turmeric On just about everything, But recently saw this super curcumin. I have not tried it yet, but is that what it is? Wishing you well…
Hey Tryguy. I looked up Super Cucurmin and think you might be onto something. I was just taking regular Curcumin but it looks like Super Curcumin is much more beneficial. I happened upon a website rlcure.com which is loaded with information. The man that set up the site has tons of information and feels "inflammation" is the source of RLS. I am still going through the information but he has a list of supplements to start taking as well as information on how various foods that help/exacerbate RLS. All we can do is Try....which might be the inspiration to your name...lol
