Does anyone take or recommend the above supplement. I have read it’s good for arthritic pain but also for cardiac health. My rheumatologist once recommended turmeric and glucosamine but I’ve read an article that mentioned avoid if taking DOACs. Any input appreciated. Thank you and take care 🦊x

Co-Q10 capsules
Yes, I take Co-Q10 but, like you, am uncertain and can’t really establish if it’s beneficial. I’m interested to read responses to your question. However, I do believe it’s alleviated the pain I had in one of my knees.
Statins work by interrupting the function of the mevalonate pathway which results in a reduction of LDL or so-called bad cholesterol. However, the mevalonate pathway also has a number of important functions, including the production of co-q10. This enzyme is important in muscle maintenance and could be why those on statins can experience chronic muscle pain. This enzyme is also found in its highest concentrations in heart muscle, and is essential for proper heart function.
I don't take statins, but if I did I'd probably consider a co-q10 supplement.
Edit: I don't know if supplementing offers benefits if on different medication, it may be best to check with your doctor or pharmacist.
thank you for your reply. I don’t take statins just edoxaban snd cocodamol but just interested to hear others experience re pain relief. Many thanks. Take care 🦊x
If you take statins, they recommend you take COQ10 as it lowers the levels of COQ10 in your body. It’s supposed to be good for your heart as well. I’ve been taking them since I was prescribed Statins several years ago.
thank you for yr reply. I don’t take statins. Just pain from OA & RA and on doac. I heard they were good for cardiac health too. Take care 🦊x
