I'm in stage 4 cirrhosis but confused about my doctor referring me to a transplant clinic while in a compensated condition! I thought it had to be absolutely an emergency for a transplant.

Travelling with Insurance
Hi folks, I was diagnosed with Decompensated Cirrhosis 2 years ago and have had regular routine 6 month MRI scans and bloods done which have all shown no features of concern and that my liver has fully recompensated. I mentioned that I was hoping to travel abroad to Spain and asked if I was OK with flying

liver pain in side. Terrified
I am a heavy drinker who had a scare earlier this year where I was told I had reversible liver damage. I was sober for a month and bloods improved. I foolishly slipped back to my old ways of very heavy daily drinking and now have pain in my right side. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow and can’t see how

Is APS hereditary?
I'm just wondering because my dad's keeping getting these nose bleeds and it's just not stopping. He's just had an operation to cut the artery and doc said that will be the end of nose bleeds. Well it's not. He's got what looks like clots coming out of his nose. So I've said maybe mention me with APS

worried about the future
at what stage of liver cirrhosis, might you need a transplant? does anyone have any experience of an iron infusion? how serious is cirrhosis of the liver and is it a terminal illness; am I going to die? sorry for the questions but I can’t sleep and my brain is whirling around . I’m usually quite positive

Could I have portal hypertension
Looking for any advice please. Not sure if I need to seek a second opinion from another Gastroenterologist. I had symptoms that could point to Cirrhosis or stages leading up to that. URQ pain, fatigue, malaise, GI issues with poor absorption (streatosis looking stools) and bloating, weight loss, shortness

Question on Varicies
As most here know Margaret is no longer with us. And I am still digging more and more to understand what happened. Reading through her reports back in Oct of 2020, she had a fatty mass compressing the IVC and Portal. Which led to development of Varices. By December 2020 the fatty masses had vanished

FIB4 Test
Did a follow up visit today with my hepatologist and he did this FIB4 calc for me. He extracted my data and assessed. Liver disease is frequently asymptomatic, challenging early identification in the primary care setting. The fibrosis 4 (FIB4) index is a liver fibrosis biomarker that is a potential

fibroscope
nearly 5yrs alcohol free. Recent fibroscope has gone from 80+ to 40. But I still have cirrhosis (with no symptoms and normal blood results). Can I be optimistic that my liver is recovering or will it never recover ?
