Rectal muscle spasm
Hi! I am suffering from what appears to be a rectal muscle spasm. I have extreme pain following a BM sometimes lasting up to 8 hours. Lying down is the only thing to take the edge off the pain. In desperation I had Botox injected in November. I seemed worse following the Botox procedure but was told

Whipple Operation
Hello Everyone and gentle hugs I posted in June that I had jaundice due to blocked and narrowing bile duct and ended up with ERCP done at Edinburgh Royal. Many CT scans and blood tests later the surgeons decided that the area beside the bile duct was suspicious. I have just had a Whipple procedure..

Elephants remember to pack spare genes to fight cancer
This is the first I've heard that some large mammals are much less susceptible to cancer. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-34466220 TP53 is the gene that makes P53 - the 53rd protein registered in a big protein database that biochemists started because they simply couldn't name things fast enough. It

Success for Anti-HIV Gene Therapy in Mice
Researchers significantly reduced HIV levels in mice with a genetic therapy that induces immune cells to better fight the virus. Publishing their results in Molecular Therapy, researchers engineered a molecule known as a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and inserted a gene for that molecule into blood-forming

Gene Therapy
Positive news this morning for our CF brothers and sisters. I know it was a small sample and the improvement was not a great percentage but this must bring hope to CFers for the future to improve their quality of life. cx

NODA Program is Designed to Diagnose Autism by the SARRC Specialists
There are many articles and blogs, which have been written on autism. So, there is nothing more to say about how this neurological disorder (autism) is turning into a social disaster. According to CDC (Centre of Disease Control) data report, it is clear that the estimated data of autism diagnosed children
