Gastoscopy and Endoscopy update
The whole experience was terrible, I gagged all the way through the
gastroscopy
, he shouted, ‘no, no, don’t do that, just breath….’ I felt everything during the endoscopy and at one time he even leaned on me.

NHS gastro/endo complaint - is it worth it??
A follow-up and question about my
gastroscopy
/endoscopy experience earlier this month. I did complain in a detailed email to the NHS and followed the correct complaints procedure. After sending the email, I got a reply by email from the Patients Complaints Officer.

Countdown nearly over....
Since then I've had blood tests galore,
gastroscopy
, MRI. I'm type 2 diabetic so have been referred to a specialist because the medication isn't doing its job. Thyroxine all messed up but everything hangs on today. See the consultant today to find out more about what happens next. I can't wait!

1 month post Ivor lewis, retching & saliva build up.
He has had repeat CT scans and
gastroscopy
which have all been fine. He is on lots of anti emetics and did have a couple of days of feeling ok and being able to drink again but now back to square one with the retching and secretions.

Stomach problem causing havoc
My GP sent me for a
gastroscopy
. However between the referral and the procedure things started getting worse, I lost a lot of weight, could hardly eat, and taking medication was near impossible.

Stopped quivering
Been and had my
Gastroscopy
. Went with a fairly open mind. Was given sedation and to be honest I remember him saying meds going in - then - that's the tube coming out now! The staff were very supportive. Seems my 'bits' are in tact!

Has anyone had a gastroscopy/ endoscopy and had to stop anti-coagulation ( or not stop) and been given any info about stroke risk?
Be grateful if anyone would share their experience- endoscopy is likely to stimulate the vagus nerve so I am concerned about being off anti coag while having the procedure- but of course bleeding risk is there too. Any feedback welcome!!

Hello, I had a
gastroscopy
on the 27th June, they said my duodenum looked atrophied, and took biopsies. Does anyone know how long is usual to wait for results? I'm thinking on phoning the gastroenterologist, but don't want to be too impatient!! I am in Kent. Thanks for your help x

I was referred for a
gastroscopy
which showed the duodenum as being slightly atrophic looking and they have taken biopsies. This is where I am at now, the waiting game. I am guessing I have coeliac from the atrophy seen, so have been *trying* to go gluten free (if anything in preparation).

Hypothyroidism?
The doctor suggested that maybe I might have a hiatal hernia, or perhaps a stomach infection (I should be having a
gastroscopy
soon to check for this), but to be honest my abdominal symptoms have subsided a lot, and I now have new problems.

Went to private practice and doctor agreed that I should be taking sublinguals as my levels are not alarming enough to get me
gastroscopy
, that is the only way to confirm PA over here. But he said that the reference range is low so it makes it look like I am good.

I had the
gastroscopy
as my endo couldn't see any reason for my very low Iron, folate and ferritin and thought I might have a gastric ulcer. There was no sign of one but biopsies of the Lipoma were taken. Barb

My Ovarian Cancer Journey
I visited my G.P who referred me to the ENT department to have a
Gastroscopy
to have a look at my stomach and everything else inside. Once this was done results showed everything was fine.

Ovarian Cyst
I was sent to have a
gastroscopy
to check for bleeding from the stomach, results were normal. I then saw a gastroenterologist ( a registrar) at the hospital on while she was examining me, she told me that she could feel my liver, which she shouldn't have been able too.

Undiagnosed Health Problems
I’ve had health problems for about 6-7 years and around three years ago I was sent for a lot of tests, including a
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy, to identify why I was having problems with vertigo, nausea, constant migraines, and fainting spells.
