Hi, I’m Steve, I had a valve repair and CABG in 2015, I’ve since received notification of a risk of infection, Mycobacterium Chimaera, felt really good for the first two years but now have some symptoms of the above, undergoing tests at the moment, has anybody else come across this?

I had my bypass in 2016 and also received a similar letter. I showed it to my doctor who said he wasn't worried. He thought I didn't have any of the symptoms. Have you consulted your GP about yours?

Hi Steve

I think it had something to do with the BY Pass machine temperature control during operations. Not 100 % sure of that, but that was my understanding. I had a CABG around the same time in the same Hospital, but didn't receive a letter !!! This was NHS Grampian.
