Pacing Wires
Hi Guys I wonder if any of you have had issues with retained pacing wires after CABG? Today I have had sharp pain at the site where my pacing wires were cut flush to me skin just before discharge from the hospital. The pain gets worse when I bend. I get this pain from time to time but not always. My

Looking like Hugh Hefner!
Hi All. So I got my heart bypass date, next Wed the 5th woohoo! Now I need to buy some button up pyjamas but why do mens pj's either come in stripes and make you look 90 plus or are in satin and make you look like Hugh Hefner? Something to consider along with should I go for one last KFC before the op

Fast heartbeat after triple CABG
I seem to be experiencing a really powerful fast heartbeat, I'm one week on from a triple bypass last Monday and was sent home Friday. I can't seem to slow it down, my booklet says if it lasts more than 2 hours then see my GP. Is this normal? I'm terrified it's not going to stop? Advice on how to slow

Angina post CABG
So, following a CABG 3.5 years ago to resolve a blocked Circumflex, I still seemed to have angina afterwards. I was recently directed back to the Chest Clinic at the local hospital as I felt like my angina had become more frequent. I saw a Cardiologist who, having looked at my history and the resting

Lesley aka Sand Dancer 💃🏻
Hi Everyone, I realise that the passing of Lesley has been posted by her friend in Newcastle. Lesley and I became great friends and I will miss her Hugely more than I can say here. I kept touch with her during this illness, and her lovely husband Peter & Laura kept me up to speed with everything. Dan

And we have a date...
We have a date for my fiancé’s bypass surgery, he has to be at hospital next Sunday for surgery on the 27th 😳 The nhs are doing it privately as he became “urgent” and this way was much quicker. Glad to have a date but terrified and nothing in place! Fiancé has gone to bits and for some reason is obsessing

aged 76 I suffered a triple heart bypass aged 74. Since I packed up playing rugby in 1983 aged 40 I have suffered chest pains despite playing badminton and tennis to a later age. I learnt long ago that there is a nerve traveling from your anal area to your chest and irritable bowels can cause chest pains

Coronary artery bypass graft.
I had a quad heart bypass on Christmas Eve 2019 at Basildon Hospital, Essex...writing this exactly 1 month after, feeling good after terrible back/shoulder pain for the first 3 weeks...now sleeping better. Saw the cardiac nurse today and she stressed that it is quite a journey back to total fitness so

Slight occasional clicking in sternum
Hello, I am a 59 year old male the had heart bypass surgery 4 weeks ago. I didn't have a heart attack, but found 4 blockages after a stress test. I am doing pretty good, but I have noticed a few times a very mild click in my chest, but only when I cough. I have read on this site that this is common.

Light-Headed When Walking
Hi all, I had my first Cardiac Arrest in 2011 followed by a triple heart bypass op. From then until a few weeks ago, all was well. I did long-distance walking (Camino de Santiago etc) without any issues; I also used a treadmill 2 or three times a week to offset my sedentary job. However, on 12th December

Experience of bypass success in treating diffuse extensive 3 vessel disease
I have been diagnosed with diffuse extensive 3 vessel disease and scheduled for bypass surgery in ten days time. Would like to hear of how successful others in a similar position found the surgery to be. Thanks.

Hello, I'm new here...
Hi there, I'm a 59 year old who has had a little chest replumbing (2x CABG and a titanium aortic valve). In November I had my annual cardiac review and my consultant was less than impressed by my 100 kg weight even though I walk about 6 km a day. We agreed that I should lose some weight and have a crack

Low eGFR?
My father who had a quadruple heart bypass 7 years ago, low blood pressure and on a range of medication for heart disease had his usual bloods checked ( mainly in relation to kidney function and any effects from medication). I spotted his eGFR was low at 78 ( range 90 -120). I want him to speak to his

Not such a good end to the day fiancé CABG yesterday
Fiancé was doing so well after his CABG yesterday. He ate his breakfast by himself, was assisted out of bed and sat in chair and was looking pretty good. Then this afternoon his heart went into atrial fibrillation with no warning and they’ve really struggled to correct it. Now it’s swinging between
