Hi ramotswe
I'm not quite sure what op you've had, looks to be heart to me, but 7 weeks isn't a long time. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to heal. Little by little and you will improve.
hello! i don't know much at all about cardiovascular recovery, but we are always here to support anyone who's alone at this time. anytime you want to post on here when you're feeling lonely or unsure, please do!
Well, that's some pretty major heart surgery you have had going on there. I think you are being far to hard on yourself expecting to be running about. Your body takes time to heal and recover after any major surgery. Seven weeks is not giving yourself much time. I should imagine you where quite short of breath before your surgery. If you have any concerns about the surgery you could contact the surgeons secretary to discuss it. xx
Hi ramotswe.
Whilst this has been a relatively recent surgery, and there are quite likely to be some after-effects, it's very important to seek confirmation and reassurance from a medical professional whenever you are in recovery. If you are no longer receiving support from a dedicated cardio nurse, then I think you should call your GP surgery and at least ask for a telephone consultation. Only a trained medical professional can truly reassure you. We are untrained and are only able to offer guesses, and those aren't good enough. Please set your mind at rest by checking with someone who will really know. Take good care of yourself.
