I’m looking for some reassurance please.
Four weeks ago I had quadruple heart bypass surgery, I am just at the start of week five post surgery and I’m struggling. The recovery is a lot slower and more challenging than I ever imagined. I feel permanently sick, can’t taste food, can no longer drink tea or coffee, am always tired and it takes

Unlucky 13 and minus 7’ outside!! 🥶
Today is 13 weeks after my heart bypass, unlucky for me a snowy, cold, icy start to WK2 Run1 of the C25K programme. 💪 I completed my run but my hands were frozen by the end!!! Managed the longer duration running periods OK but found it difficult to concentrate on the new breathing technique introduced

Angina
Hi all, Can I ask what your angina pains you get, as I am having different pains recently like electric shock to the heart they only last for a second, the other night I had about 8, I took gtn and the pain did go eventually. My doctor at the hospital said that shooting pains are not a symptom of angina

Friendship - an odd one
I had a private
gastric
bypass
to help me lose 15 stone which I saw as saving my life as I was pushing 27 stone and had very little quality of life. I haven't had any plastic surgery for example even though have terrible excess skin on my stomach and thighs.

Reduction in blood thinners
My Mam had a double heart bypass in July 2019 after CA and many HAs over a 6 year period. Her body just didnt like her stents! She has recovered well and is doing more more than I've seen her do in years, which is great. She has had her blood thinners removed from her med list, however is still on aspirin

😴 Online course to retrain mind & body to improve sleep
Hi everyone. Just sharing this link as we have previously discussed problems sleeping post CABG. Its an online course to retrain yourself to sleep and I was referred by my GP after discussing with her difficulties sleeping. Have started to keep sleep diary for 7 days... if you have not come across this

I would like to apologise for my last post.
Driven completely by frustration, shortly after Christmas I posted that, such was the focus on COVID 19, in both the NHS and the private sector, the only way I was going to receive the bypass surgery I required was if I had a heart attack. It was an immature and insensitive post and one that I regretted

Covid vaccine list
If I have previously had a quintuple heart bypass where do I sit on the nhs rollout list for the COVID vaccine?. I have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

Kidney failure
Having had Roux-en-Y
gastric
bypass
I’m on a high protein diet, I guess with kidney disease my diet will be the complete opposite. Is there anything that can be done to lower creatinine levels?

Bypass surgery
New to this forum. I had a heart attack 7 months ago, triple bypass a week later. I’m interested to hear from people that have experienced similar and how they are recovering, set backs, how you are feeling? Any symptoms you might have or if you are fully recovered. Thanks

Hi everyone . I had a HA on dec 1st , ambulance to hospital ,blood tests showed i had a HA, was put on cardio ward and a few days later had angiogram. Drs decided the best option was for bypass surgery. I was sent home after 10 days as even though at high risk of another HA they said it was safer to

Infection harvest site. Diabetic
Hi there all :) My dad is 21 days post quadruple bypass surgery. He is doing fairly well however we thought his harvest site (leg) may be infected a few days ago. It is now day 4 of the antibiotics and the wound seems to be worsening. He is diabetic and often has difficulty with wounds not healing as

It's exactly a year since my quadruple heart bypass...what a year!
I haven't posted apart from the odd reply for quite some time but now I've reached a milestone, 1 year since my operation which is also pretty much 1 year in lockdown. When I left hospital it was barely 2 weeks before we went into national lockdown and from that point onward there were just 4 weeks in

Tingling arms and hands
Morning all Hope everyone has had a good Christmas weekend? It’s nice to have time off to relax from work. 🤗 Sorry for the long post. I tapered off steroids 6 weeks ago after 2 years and the side effects have stopped me sleeping, sent my blood sugar levels high, and the fatigue was incredible. Blood
