X-RAY and CT: still can't diagnose!
I am an asthmatic who started to experience severe breathlessness about 4 months ago. Never experienced the like before. Inhalers didn't help ... Chest x-ray showed abnormalities and CT confirmed that but my consultant (who is very nice and helpful), phoned the other day to tell me that he and two colleagues

Hi. I'm new here. I developed Raynauds in January this year followed quickly by swollen and tightening skin on my hands. I think my Dr thought I had Lupus. I had problems with my knees too. Bloods including ANA were done but I was referred to Rheumatolgy at that initial appoint. I saw the specialist

Hospital day adventures, part 1.
Thats the North Middlesex leg of the day done and dusted. In there for over 3 hours, most of it just waiting around, as you do. First appointment had to be rescheduled. They couldn't do my lung function tests because of my recent infection, and they wouldn't get a 'true' reading. Whatever that means

Swollen lymph nodes in armpit. Anyone else out there experienced this?
Hi everyone Well after a beautiful six weeks of feeling g well on methodrexate and putting all my worries behind me I saw the consultant today. This was great as I usually see the registrar but this guy is very esteemed and has been a consultant for years. We went through everything and as an afterthought

I am now 5 weeks post cardiac ablation and for the past two weeks have suffered with breathing problems and a dry, non-productive cough. I saw my PCP last week and he put me on Medrol for a 6 day period. I also had a chest x-ray which showed nothing. Today I saw my regular cardiologist (not my EP), and

Shadow in Chest X Ray
I had severe pain in lower left side of chest last year which later proved to be pleural effusion and TB. My X Ray showed blunting and heavy hazziness n opacity at left side. After 7 months the Xray is less hazy and blunted and my left cp angle is visible bit there is a circular shadow below left lung

GCA came out of the blue!
After a working life of 44 years with little time off work from illness. I continued the three years of early retirement in the same vein, avoiding going to the doctor. (I did not discover I had over 60 free prescription until the age of 64!) On the 19 June I had googled a range of symptons which could

Blood test result of 198
Hi New here. Have been feeling awful for weeks. Started with feeling very short of breath, even if not exerting myself, dizziness, total exhaustion. Last winter I was walking 4 miles with my dogs but was now hard pushed to walk 200 yards. GP at first was helpful, ordered chest X-ray and ECG ( I'm 61)

COPD test
I am 50 years old, never smoked. I recently had a chest X-ray that shows I have COPD but need to have breathing test on Tuesday. I cough mucus all the time and I am very breathless, even when eating. What should I expect?

Severe anemia
Since diagnosis at the beginning of May I have completed three rounds of FCR treatments. The first cycle went well and before second cycle my blood counts were close to normal (low lymphs). After second cycle everything started to go down and my third round was put off for two weeks while my counts improved

Chest Pain (stitch like), shortness of breath
Hi All Just wondered if any of you have the symptoms as described in the title ? The chest pain feels like a stitch right on my heart and the shortness of breath feels like my lungs can't expand, like something heavy is compressing them or my chest is being crushed by a heavy weight.. It seems to happen

Hospital
Happy Sunday everyone I saw a consultant at the hospital a few weeks back who said my breathlessness was down to a groeter pushing on the wind pipe. He said it would mean surgery he arranged for a neck scan which I had yesterday and was told there is nothing there and I must make another appointment

Reducing Venlafaxine after taking for 5 years. Anyone suffered withdrawal hell?
Background of my PP and medication: I had Postpartum Psychosis in February 2010 and after being prescribed Olanzapine the symptoms of psychosis soon subsided. However, in July 2010 I fell into an incredibly deep depression and have been on a number of anti-depressants ever since. The Olanzapine was replaced
