I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's back in 2014. I have only been on synthroid once for about a year. It messed with my sleep and my blood pressure. So I stopped taking it and I became hooked on a sleep med to boot. My last US according to my report are referring to it as a goiter. I did have more daytime

Hello everyone. Firstly I want to say a big thanks to everyone that helped me understand my mum's results and situation. I also got my wires crossed and gave some wrong info. My mum did have a test before they prescribed 25mg, TSH 8.58. They said as she was 'borderline' they would try levo before considering

Back to life thanks to this forum! GP Next steps though - further levo increase?
You've been so helpful. Your collective knowledge has led to a diagnosis of (ords) hashimotos, my levo being upped to 75mg and I'm pain free for the first time in 5 YEARS! Thank you. I feel alive again. I armed myself with printed NICE guidelines and facts/ research and GP didn't resist this time and

Levothyroxine no longer effective
Hi Folks , I'm struggling. My medication is no longer working. my Levothyroxine 100mg was working - from November 2022 TSH 0.49 shot up to TSH 7.18. February 2024 safe regions 0.27-4.2. I have no clue how this can change so dramatically I need some kind of explanation. Can someone help me.

Fatigue after eating
Husband is getting very sleepy after all meals. His sugar is always below 100 when tested, he takes levothyroxine for low thyroid (waiting for over 2 weeks now on latest blood work and TSH results from PCP. *sigh* He's taking a statin (can't remember the name) and Tamsulosin. Current cancer treatment

Chat with GP. Disappointed.
So recent post my TSH is still high I feel at around 4 but just in range but I know and told him about the facts and figures for it and still having symptoms and declined an increase. I feel I should do it myself. .. I can’t afford to see an endo or such so pls don’t suggest. I don’t know what to do?

Dose change - feeling AWFUL
As per my previous post, my TSH was over 4 on 50mcg, so I did a week on 62.5mcg and now a few days on 75mcg. I feel terrible. So tired, weak, muscles ache, headaches. I’m still on the Wockhardt brand as it suits me best. I read somewhere this can happen if your cortisol is low. I had low 9am readings

Increase dose or maintain?
hi all, I’m on 75mcg of Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto’s. Latest result 1.92 tsh miu/L (range 0.3-5.5) My medication review is on Thursday, originally I thought I’d need to bring my TSH lower to feel well, but I now feel a million times better on 75mcg with no more symptoms

Gluten
Hello everyone, Well, I did an otc gluten test for sensitivity and it was negative, and I think I had a coeliac test in the past before being diagnosed with ME. I’ve been seriously thinking about going gluten free as advised on here to try it. I have elevate tg antibodies which I found out on here

Blood test results
Hi I had been on 50mcg of levothyroxine for about 6 weeks approx because I bought them online since my doctor wouldn't prescribe them at the time, as I have a pending hospital appointment with an endocrinologist at the end of this year and he wanted to wait until I'd see him/her first. I told the doctor

Asking to learn
Sorry for all the questions but you all have been so helpful. If your hypothyroidism is secondary shouldn't your medication be based on your free levels and not your tsh?

TSH higher after stopping Biotin
After decades of telling my doctor that I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism and being told everything was normal as TSH was between 2.8 and 4 [0.38 - 5.33], I discovered a few weeks back that the Biotin supplement that I have been taking for all of that time could have been interferring with the
