hello … I’m just asking for a friend who is experiencing lots of health issues and is feeling like there may be an underlying issue that is being overlooked.
She is tired not sleeping feeling really poorly and low
Her blood results are as in pics (with her permission)
She is on Citalopram and doc says all her bloods are normal
No further action ….
She is really concerned as she feels so awful …
Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on these results.
no TSH on this but TSH in aug 2023 was 0.7
Many thanks
I have 2 more pics but won’t let me upload them ?

Thankyou TiggerMe I’ll let my friend know as I think she wants to approach her GP again to get this investigated further as she feels so awful … as I said to Slowdragon she is frustrated unwell and at her wits end
I can imagine, she may not have much luck with her GP as they only really look at TSH and it looks like central or secondary hypothyroidism as her pituitary isn't sending out a good enough signal... so it might be a case of going straight to a a private Endo to get her back on her feet then she can do battle with the NHS system
She has recently seen a private endo and he said nothing to be too concerned about. He did say he could investigate further but it would cost her about 2000£ !!!!
Thankyou SlowDragon ….. I will ask about meds and supplements. Again thankyou , my friend is at her wits end and knows something just doesn’t feel right
From my own experience I know how ill I felt with a low and below range FT4. My issues were continually dismissed by my GP for many years and put down to my mental health problems.
Your friend will have to be persistent with their gp; really difficult when you don't feel at all well. I found writing letters to the Practice manager and copying in the gp was useful; outlining what you believe to be the possible problem and what you'd like them to do. I did eventually get a referral to an endocrinologist but I had to really push for it. Was prescribed levo after a partial thyroidectomy.
Thankfully your friend has you for support. Knowing that you don't feel well but to be told there's nothing wrong is very frustrating and can make you start to doubt yourself. Many on the forum have experienced that. Make sure she knows that she's not alone. 🤗
