Stress fracture
I’ve loved the c25k programme and have continued to run 3 Times a week since graduating. However I suffered a sharp unexplained pain in the fibula just above my ankle bone on the outside of my left leg halfway through a run. I couldn’t run for much longer and walked home. I assumed I’d got a sprain

I have some lower back pain, probably from the compression
fractures
Iv'e had over last couple years. Some things have been done for it. Since I have let myself be in a rut lately, I am active but don't exercise on a regular basic at all. It is time for me to do that like now.

Very Informative Podcast
https://m.soundcloud.com/prostate-oncology/off-label-treatment-used-for-prostate-cancer This podcast was done by Mark Scholz (my oncologist from Prostate Oncology Specialists). Very worthwhile information. He discusses off label uses. Some here oppose that but Scholz was using Taxotere long before

Success with SBRT
I was wondering have many had success with SBRT. I am supposed to start next week mets spreading in my pelvis with rising psa . Have been on Xtandi but did not work now on zytiga even though told chances it will work are slim. Radiologists feels this will help with pain and kill some of the cancer cells

Ibrutinib and Tylenol with codeine
Beastly toothache for 4 days and extra strength Tylenol isn't doing a thing to cut the pain. Can I safely take Tylenol with codeine until I am able to get into a dentist?

So, I'm keen to understand what experiences other older people of my mum's age have had with these
fractures
and am grateful for any expedites you might share whether good or bad so that we might have some idea of what the future might hold.

I Can Do an Oil Change
My latest blog post, where I ponder the paradox of having a "can do" attitude while on disability leave. In other news, I completed chemo back in June, finished radiation in July, and continue on Atezolizumab, Lupron, Abiraterone, and Xgeva. I'm finally beginning to see glimpses of improving health

Castrate resistant
How long with being castrate resistant with Mets has Zytiga or Xtandi kept your cancer at bay? Our Oncologist said two yrs the most. Have any of you gone longer than that

AA or not?
I recently had a dexa scan and the results show I now have osteoporosis, after having osteopenia for some years. I have had pmrgca for five years and been taking predisolone reducing down now to 4mg pd. A few years ago I was prescribed alendronic acid, which I found difficult to take and also read that

Bone pain in calf with lupus flare ?
Pooh bear (the wife) has SLE and has a small flare at the moment probably caused by the sun. Theres one feature she always gets and we dont know why. Her shins become really painful in the bone. This is really bad pain so she cannot sleep. Last year she had a really bad flare with highly abnormal blood

Start Running again after injury. Which week?
I completed C25K nearly 2mths ago and was running 30-40 mins 3 times a week for a month until 2 weeks ago when I got shin splints. I'm only now ready to start running again but don't feel confident going straight back into 30 min runs. I thought about starting midway through the C25K program, but which

Should I stay or should I go....
That was my dilemma this morning. Had a terrible night... just a few hours disturbed sleep. When the alarm went off at 5, I couldn't have felt less like getting out of bed, let alone going out for a run. I was so torn.... my head voice was telling me I should just put the run off until tomorrow, so

I need a new back.
For some time now I have asked myself is it actually worth it, putting up with side effects and feeling generally unwell after being put on one treatment after another, then going on to have 6 spinal
fractures
without trauma.

Actemra twist
Just saw my rheumatologist today. I’m having some trouble with the veins on my right arm during my monthly IV treatments of Actemra. I had a left side mastectomy so I can only use my right arm for blood pressures, injections, blood draws and IVs. Veins are not holding up too well after all that’s been

W3R1- The Hardest Part
I’ve been a little quiet lately but the good news is I haven’t stopped running, I just didn’t have the mental energy to write about the last ones, especially after my last epic saga of the mundane was lost to the depths of my iPhone last week. So anyway I ran on Saturday after a chain of unexceptional

Week 5 Run 1 💪
A little worried about starting this week, I had spent the weekend reading through various posts on here to keep me motivated and give me inspiration. I went out at my usual time, just after 8am, the field I run on, opposite my house, was cool and just the usual dog walkers around. I love it at this

Good afternoon all, I like to think myself as an early morning runner, getting my exercise in before I start work. However, I really struggled to drop off to sleep last night, no particular reason, just one of those nights when I couldnt stop my brain from thinking! Alarm went off at 5:45am as normal
