Beastly toothache for 4 days and extra strength Tylenol isn't doing a thing to cut the pain. Can I safely take Tylenol with codeine until I am able to get into a dentist?

Ibrutinib and Tylenol with codeine
I wonder if an antibiotic will help until you can get in to a dentist.
A toothache is generally a byproduct of the bacteria from an infected tooth. It's like a gas that builds up causing pressure until sometimes a fissure is formed going to the outside of your gum and releasing some of the pressure and giving relief.
The bacteria is very purulent, bad stuff. Not to fool with.
hoping to get into the dentist tomorrow. I have been having brutal canker sores and quite a few infections in other areas. Just came off a month of antibiotics. I see the cll specialist in about a week but this tooth or gum pain is getting worse everyday. I can usually tolerate a fair bit of pain but this is getting the better of me. Think I will try T3 and hope for some over night relief. Thanks for your help.
I think for drug interactions it’s always best to ask your doctor or pharmacist. The specialty pharmacy I get my ibrutinib from has a pharmacist on call most days.
That said, I think Tylenol and codeine is okay to take with ibrutinib., but I am not a medical professional and can’t give you medical advice. Here is a drug interaction website you can use to see. But your doctor is your best person to ask.
Tylenol is a pain killer.
The anti-inflammatory drugs, which help reducing inflamation thus pain, you can NOT take on Ibrutinib. Warm salt water helps sometimes too.
I don't know where you live ,however, maybe you can call an advice nurse or your doctor.
Dentist's usually can take an emergency call or even a visit.
My husband just had a tooth ache and it can be very painful.
I was prescribed codeine to take with paracetamol (Tylenol) by my haematologist whilst on ibrutinib. I still take it from time to time if I have more serious pain. Other thing to be aware of is codeine can cause constipation.
Best to ask your doctor or pharmacist if it’s suitable for you however. Hope the tooth pain eases soon.

Hello Imbub
I would try teaspoon of 2 parts baking soda to 1 part salt mixed in warm water twice a day. You swish (highly technical term) around your mouth twice daily. This will not effect taking any other medications, and may help deal with the mouth sores and bacteria. Blessings.
update on my sore mouth. Access tooth and infected gums. Tooth gone and hopefully the amoxicillan and t3s kick in soon. Owww!!!
I hope you toothache is soon better. Have u tried altering the timing of tablet - taking both tylenol and ibuprofen but not at the same time, take each one half way between the doses of the other one. Liz in UK
