Hashimotos/hypothyroidism
Symptoms: fatigue, cold hands, no menstrual cycle, black outs (after drinking alcohol), weak hair and nails. Currently on 125mg of levothyroxine, my symptoms have became worse over the past 6 months yet my blood test results have appeared fine. Taking probiotics, cod liver oil, turmeric, glutamine

Glutamine to treat colitis?
If anyone has colitis, would you be so kind as to share your treatments to help the condition ? My nephew has just been diagnosed, has now come off steriods & on a new med that does not suit him at all. The meds don't help & he's getting awful headaches and suffering another bout of rectal bleeding

Glutamine and pc growth
Is anyone familiar with glutamine and prostate cancer metabolic tumor growth? I am vegan and I eat everyday humus and peans which are very rich in glutamine. I just found this info by accident and I sort of panicked because that is mostly the main source of protein I get on a daily basis. Any thoughts

Leaky Gut: has anyone had this, and can give me some advice ?
Hi, I have had ' leaky gut' now for about a month and would love some advice as to how others have dealt with it. I have read that it is extremely common in Hashimotos people (Isabella Wentz book), and I appear to have most of the symptoms. It's very uncomfortable and debilitating with all the IBS

Looking for various so called causes of RLS
Can anyone give me a list of ALL the 'causes' of RLS. There have been so many starting with lack of magnesium. I am not interested in the 'band aid' drugs we are all given but rather the suspected etiology (the cause) of RLS. Recently Johns Hopkins Hospital said it was too much glutamine in the brain

Old Crohnie newbie here
Hi all, I was fifty earlier this year and have lived with Crohn's for approx 36 years, so consider myself something of a Crohn's veteran now. Until last year I thought I was doing okay on Azathioprine and a low dose of Pentasa, following my last surgery 11 years ago, which left me with only approx 1.1

Tried EVERYTHING, and now...
EVERYTHING means just that, medication, body work, head trips...Just returned from a trip to Johns Hopkins Hospital where a Dr. Paul Allen's research showed excess glutamate in the thalamus of the brain is the etiology of the pathology of WED. Very SADLY the treatment from JHH is more pharmaceuticals

Some Difficulties Translating Scientific Studies into News We Can Use
I recently re-read a paper that was discussed in this forum over a year ago. I bring it up now because I have re-thought some of the supplements I presently take and plan to make changes in my regimen. The paper in question, “Combinatorial treatment with natural compounds in prostate cancer inhibits

Constipated diarrhea
Can anyone please help me figure out what I have? I don’t have hard stools and it’s not constipation, it’s that the poop is stuck inside me, even if it’s diarrhea. I can drink laxative and will need to have diarrhea really badly but it will NOT COME OUT. When it does it’s a little diarrhea at a time.

Xtandi vs generic. Humana advised upon first prescription for Xtandi that the generic drug Flutamide is a substitute. Anyone using a generic
My insurer Humana advised on 2/23/18 that
Flutamide
is an “approved” generic for Xtandi. This was news to me & while I’m checking with oncologist I wanted to seek input from real world users. This generic is substantially less than Xtandi in price but more important to me is it’s effectiveness.

How do you know what foods, if any, to give up when you have Hashimotos?
Hi everyone - love this forum! Hope you're all having a good day wherever you are in the world. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos last year but was fortunate in that it was detected early enough that I don't appear to need any medication as yet. However, my thyroid is enlarged and I have multiple nodules
