Horrible horrible migraines

hello all! As some of you know, i've started taking Synthroid about a month ago (25 mcgs/ day) Still haven't gone back for my 6 weeks to potentially up the dose. I'm also taking 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 + 50 mcg of K2 every other day.

I'm also supposed to start taking Flutamide (anti-androgen) for my PCOS because my testosterone levels are quite high. Picking that up from pharmacy tomorrow...

But for about 5 days now i've been having horrible horrible migraines that are just crippling. Haven't had a migraine in about 3 years prior to this... And especially not one that is lasting this long!! I'm basically going to bed and waking up with the migraine. Do you think it could be from Synthroid? Only thing i can think of that i've changed...

Thank you all!!

Camila,

I have been taking synthroid since 09, and what I WISH I knew then that I know now is to try to heal my thyroid before I start taking synthroid! It is very possible. Synthroid is JUST a symptom coverer, it barely helps the thyroid. Many people still feel terrible on synthriod. I suggest 1. try to find a doctor that prescribes natural thyroid which is called armour thyroid 2. take yourself to a INTEGRATIVE doctor (their main goal is to naturally heal you and they only prescribe meds where needed). If you feel funny ever since taking synthroid, go back to your doctor.

Thanks for your advice! I'll look into seeing what kind of doctors are covered by my insurance :)

P.S I am currently trying to heal myself now working with an integrative doctor. I recommend you watch the thyroid secret documentary.

'GM, Camilla...Sorry, you're going that! I never had any issues with Synthroid except it makes me woosie and my heart will palpitate sometimes and raises my pressure for a while, I had a Total Thyroidectomy! You need to let your Doctor know ASAP! there could be some underlying issue going on as a result of you being on Synthroid! 'JUST DON'T forget to take your pill and I have Graves Disease as well, with a Suppressed Immune System! But God is merciful and we ALL will get through this! Be strong and get to your Doctor! I wish you well and may you be safe and blessed!

Hi Davis62, thanks very much for your input! I shall go to my doctors. Should I not discontinue taking my pill in the meantime??? Today the migraine has been almost unbearable!!
