Latest News: COVID-19 & Flu vaccines for people with CKD
Kidney disease patients are at higher risk from severe illness from both the

Immunocompromised behavior
I am fully vaccinated for
flu
, covid, and RSV. I am reluctant to let people into the house for any extended time if I don’t know their vaccine status, as I am immunocompromised. Am I being paranoid about this…??How do others deal with this?

Another day another other saga!!You couldn’t make it up!
I think as I had
Flu
there just wanted me out of there with little thought for me. I’m now concerned I may end up back there in the next day or 2. Once home I looked on my NHS App.

Flu vaccine
Thank you for your replies and concerns regarding the
flu
vaccine. However I was querying if people with underactive thyroid/Hashimotos need to be more aware of taking it.

Flu vaccine
Hi My
flu
vaccine is all booked. I’ve only ever had one before two years ago but occurred to me that maybe I should research if it’s ok to have it as I have Hashimotos/underactive thyroid. Appreciate any advice. 🌸

Post Covid for a Cllier
Came down with Covid 7 days ago - like a horrid bout of
flu
. Managed to get anti virals sent by the hospital on the second day at 10pm- great service Chelsea and Westminster hospital. Now tested negative yesterday but still got heavy cold and sore throat and feel weak. When will it go away??

reducing Prednisolone
My GP suggested I wait until the spring as it would not be a great idea to be on two immuno suppressants dluring the
flu
season. ( I should add that My PMR was triggered by a
flu
vaccine). and when I had a second one two years ago, it caused a big flare, so I no longer have the
flu
jab.

stop prednisone with flu vaccine?
I was told not to take my prednisone and antiviral to receive
flu
vaccine. Has anyone heard of that? That it would be less potent. When do we recommence ? Thank you!

Recovering after hospital stay
I felt very
flu
like for a couple of days then okay for a few days. After that I got a cold and a chesty cough. The cough was only occasional. At the end of last week I started to feel
flu
like again.

Trapped nerve/ shoulder pain
Over time it has improved a little but the site of all the injections above (3 loading, 1 top up and 1
flu
or Covid) is sore to the touch. Has anyone experienced similar with the regular b12’s?

Asthma flare up or cold??
I've been ill for about 3 weeks now with throat infection and before that I had sinusitis and then before that I had the
flu
so this is not a good time for me and I think my asthma is getting majorly affected by it all so fed up honestly 😞

do I need the spring Covid shot?
On October 10 of 2023 I received the Moderna bivalent booster, as well as the
flu
shot and RSV shot. I came down with Covid, for the second time, on March 20 of 2024. First time was April of 2022, I am doing fine now.
