Panic and confusional arousal
Hey all, Lately I’ve been waking up from sleep in the middle of the night completely panic stricken and confused. This is not a symptom I’m used to and it’s really been scaring me. Sometimes I feel it’s because I get too hot and wake up hyperventilating. Sometimes I wake up totally afraid and in the

Anxiety and IBS
I am wondering how many people there are like me. I have extreme anxiety caused by my IBS. I avoid going out as much as possible due to the fear of pooing myself or the fact I am too embarrassed to poo in public toilets but I’m forced to every time I go out. I have diarrhoea most days that include me

Starting High School
My son is now 11 and has suffered from bladder problems since he was a baby. He has an over active bladder and a small bladder capacity (about 90ml). The specialist has ruled out constipation and has put him on Tolterodine, which I suppose is helping a little, but he still has frequent accidents.

Agitated when waking up from induced coma
My boyfriend has been in an induced coma following a severe head injury for over 3 weeks. Every time they try to wake him they say he gets “agitated” but surely this is normal? How are they ever going to bring him around if he gets agitated every time? I feel like we are getting no where, and then they

W8R1 - A pleasant surprise
Week 8 had been playing on my mind a little. I had read a number of posts saying how difficult people were finding it and I had a real struggle with W7R3. So I got up a little earlier than usual this morning, in an attempt to avoid the heat, and set off on the brisk walk. By the time the 5 mins were

My child is suffering
My 9 year old daughter woke up one day back in May wet and said she can’t hold her urine anymore. Since then it seems like she lost her ability to control urination completely. We checked and re checked, I was told that her guts are blocked. She’s always been constipated but now it’s on a diff level

8 year old son on Movicol for 7 months - no progress
Hello, I’m struggling with my son who turned 8 in April. He has been on Movicol since xmas (varying amounts) and there seems to be no improvement. Have tried disimpacting several times but never sure if we quite got there fully. It also doesn’t help that he wants privacy when he uses the toilet and

New article on designing proper trials for T4/T3 combination therapy
New article has appeared in full discussing how to design trials for determining use of combination therapy. Naturally, being US based, it makes no mention of our work whatsoever.

Flare-up not under control and just don't know what to do
Hi everyone Bit of background: Had PMR for 3 years in October but only diagnosed 2 years ago in October. Been on a steroid reduction scheme but developed steroid myopathy in December 2019 (when I had a flare-up and increased steroids) which was only diagnosed in April 2020. Was advised to reduce 1mg

Dad has been bedridden for 2 months Post-Covid
Hi all, my father has been in a wonderful rehab center since 5/23. He is slowly, very slowly, regaining certain muscles. For example, the nurses sit him up and he can hold the seated position on his own for 1-2 minutes, and can sway his body left and right. He could only hold the position for 8 seconds

Medication Dilemma
Last year I was on a cocktail of asthma drugs. Around this time I was regularly hitting my PB. I began to feel uncomfortable taking so many drugs and decided that I wanted to try controlling my asthma with combo inhaler and salbutamol. For the last 6 months or so I’ve not been anywhere near the PB set

Random attacks
I think most of us are aware of what causes flare ups, be it specific foods, stress etc. But does anyone just get random attacks for no reason? This week I’ve had 2 really bad bouts of diarrhoea, Imodium helped but I still have the cramps and general pains. Nothing unusual eaten this week, been good
