Should I ask to go up on my levothyroxine dosage?
Hi everyone! As suggested, I followed everyone's advice regarding the blood test, and also I've been taking the levothyroxine earlier (leaving more of a gap before eating or taking other medications) for a month, and my latest results are: Serum free T4 level 12.0 pmol/L [7.9 - 14.4] Normal 05 Apr

low serum iron. Normal ferritin
been getting very tired lately. ET (MPL) on pegysus 45ug every 2 weeks. Mentioned fatigue to haematologist and he suggested reducing peg further to 3 weekly. Got the above results after we got home. Also raised CRP but I do have a cold . raised neutrophils and wbc. Haem thought this was good as mounting

long term omeprazole use
I was taking omeprazole for about 15 years and stopped in December last year, as I had done some research and found out it can affect stomach acid. No one told me to stop taking it. I don’t even know why I was put on it in the first place, up I think it was for IBS. I haven’t had any acid reflux or indigestion

Constantly bleeding / zoladex
I'm coming to to my 3rd shot of zoladex next week but for the last 5 weeks I've had 3 periods and all have been a week long. I had 5 days respite between 2 and my current period. I'm currently on day 7 and is not letting up, so don't know how much longer this 3rd will go on for. They aren't light,

low ferritin
Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Easter… I’ve recently found out I have a low ferritin level, I started to take iron supplements, but found out recently they are non-heme, I checked my ferritin levels again and they’ve dropped to 29, and my iron serum has started to slowly drop aswell, I’m not deficient

symptoms flare-up
I have been battling an iron deficiency since November, that seems to be a result of my correcting b12 deficiency with shots. I have not been taking the full recommended dose of iron until about a week ago. My ferritin is 25, which is up from 14, but still deficient. The last 3 weeks or so I have notice

ferritin level 50
please could you advise! My Ferritin level is 50, GP has advised that this is normal and been flippant in her communication. I am right in thinking this level is too low ? How would I approach my GP with this information? Suffered since I was 6 now 48! Currently on Ropinirole but experiencing augmentation

PV Iron deficiency and Endurance
I am 65, diagnosed with PV November 2023 (had pulmonary embolus). I am on Hydrea and all blood counts are now normal. My usual activity has included a lot of bicycling, often long hilly rides (50 miles or more) and multiple days in a row. I asked MD if there was anything that might make me feel more

Ferritin
I know that Ferritin is stored iron but I’m a bit confused about how Ferritin and iron correlate. Is it possible to have Ferritin in range but low iron - and what would be considered optimal Ferritin? My level has just been tested and has gone down from a stable 88 to 34 I’m sorry to be so dumb

Which iron supplement to take?
My ferritin level is at 65 but understand getting above 100 could be beneficial. Is ferrous sulphate the way to go and if so how much would I need to take? TIA

High TSH (which keeps rising over the years) and consistently high T4 for 7 years with no major symptoms.
Hi, Over the last 7 years, my TSH has kept rising from around 5.88 and now it is at 11.9. My T4 has stayed consistently high at between 19 and 20 throughout this time. My antibodies test are normal with nearly non-existent antibodies and my T3 was normal in the middle of the range. All my other blood

I have been seeing Professor Matthew Walker for RLS. I am taking 600mg of gabapentin at 3pm and a further 600mg at 7pm. I also frequently take a further 300mg at midnight. I was on 6 x .088mg of Pramipexole which I have gradually come off of completely since September 2023. I took my last 1/2 of.088mg

B12 and Ferritin
During the consultation he showed a graph plotting my
ferritin
level from 2015, the earliest
blood
test
available, when it was 99, until the B12 injections began at the very end of 2020, at which time they began to fall off a cliff, a dramatic illustration of what happens in a body desperate to heal.
