disease 5 years ago after an ultra sound and ever since i have flare ups of pain in my lower abdomen on the right side. Initially i used to wonder if it was lactose intolerance or something like that as the pain was more mild irritation.

Worried about alcohol damage
Hi, I was diagnosed in 2018 with
fatty
liver
via ultrasound and raised enzymes. At the time I was drinking quite a bit, I did try to cut down a lot but probably could have done alot better.

Abuse of alcohol and liver concerns
Hello everyone! Hope I find you well. Long story short I've used to love drinking and I've always had tolerance towards it so I was consuming large amounts during my early 20's. Now Im 27y male and for the past two years I was literally addicted to alcohol and consumed alcohol almost everyday. At first

Very new and very confused
Hi there. Hubby has been a drinker for years and it appears that it has all caught up with him. He had his 5 year MOT back in August and was prescribed Folate, B12 compound and Thiamine but no info was given during his telephone consultation. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed his eyes were a bit yellowy

Docosahexaenoic Acid Reverses Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Drug Resistance ...
New Chinese cell study [1]. Docosahexaenoic Acid [DHA] is one of the two marine omega-3 fatty acids that people seem to have become bored with. Are supplements good or bad? Why do the softgels have an "off" taste? Is the oil oxidized, rancid, etc."I like to get my DHA from fish. For breakfast I

Thought I’d give a little update on my ARLD journey. After 1 year of initial Fibroscan results which were CAP score 316 and 28.9 kpa elastography score, which shattered my world as it wasn’t expected. My latest results after abstaining from alcohol, which I may say has been oh-so difficult after

update on hubby 4
He continues to make slow improvements. Good days then bad days. He has been confused at times but that is improving slowly too. He is able to walk into the kitchen and bathroom using his walker. Eating small meals and generally more conversational. I saw my GP and he stated that my husband is still

Does this sound like Fibromyalgia?
Scan normal, mild
fatty
liver
. Watching my fat intake now and living with the IBS somehow. More aware of the triggers now. Ectopic heart beats, feeling faint and dizzy on and off, not all the time. EEG and 24 hr tape normal, they did see the ectopics but did not know why they were happening.

Quick deterioration
4 weeks after his last admission hubby eventually agreed to go back to hospital. I'm shocked at how frail he now is, shuffling across to the bathroom. Can't get a sense of his liver health. Apparently diuretics stopped, giving him albumin, and there is some kidney damage? They then have to reinstate

Interesting discussion on supplements from ZOE
Here is a podcast or transcript of it that others may find useful in deciding what to spend their precious pennies on after an expert discusses large, long range studies. For those who have neither the time nor the brain today, it was a thumbs up to a multivitamin, vitamin D (not large doses!), omega

Constipation ....
Sooooo, while there are some things which are considered "unmentionable", they are often the things where a chat can be very helpful. Many of us are on heavy pain medications, most of which cause constipation. Personally, I can go eight days and end up with nausea and stomach pain. Yes, I have tried

Concerned bloke looking for some thoughts from people in the know.
During investigations, I had a ultrasound which showed that I had
fatty
liver
. Doc was not concerned and sent me on my way. I then had a CT 6 month later and all organs normal. Anyway 18 odd months ago I started to get really sore lower ribs on the left side.

New medicine for NASH????
This is the first paragraph from the article in the Boston Globe: Intercept Pharmaceuticals said Thursday that an extensive re-analysis of a large clinical trial involving its experimental treatment for the
fatty
liver
disease known as NASH once again achieved its primary efficacy goal.

Marmite and cirrhosis
Serious question. Next to tabasco, Marmite is one of those foodstuffs that I really couldn't do without. I know the vit B12 in it is very good for your liver but I'm also aware that it's full of salt. I've been avoiding asking this question probably because I know what the answer will be but I really
