Just before Christmas I was in hospital twice. I had a shortage of sodium and had two falls. My doctor was not happy about the sodium though. When I came home I found I had been given this but not a word said about it. I found out it was intended to replace my Omeprazole which I had taken on and off

hello I have been prescribed Famotidine as an alternative to omeorazole. Does anyone know if this adversely affects RLS? I have severely painful feet due to arthritis which is helped by taking meloxicam - however to take this some type of stomach protector must also be taken …….

He is taking Indapamide, Bisoprolol, Atorvastatin, Esomeprazole, and Famotidine, and getting quite bad indigestion both at times during the day, and during the night.

and now taking famotidine on its own and not seeing much difference at all. I know I need to give things time but I was wondering if a combination of the 2 would help?

Has anyone been taking Famotidine on a long term badis? My GP has put me on it and I am worried about long term side effects of this medication

Been on maximum meds 2 x 30mg Lanzoprazole 2 x 20mg Famotidine and Gaviscon Advanced 4 times a day. Followed Dr Kauffman diet religiously too but although not as bad I’m still experiencing reflux every day during daytime and have constant bitter tasting mouth.

I take famotidine for it and occasionally some anti-acids

Everything went well, but Ranitidine was withdrawn, so was put on Omeprazole which caused indigestion, and subsequently given Famotidine instead. Everything was fine, until July this year, when suddenly I developed intermittent episodes of missed beats with heart rate of around 45.

And Metronidazole along with Famotidine.. Today I feel really jittery and breathless and a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth. Can anyone tell me if it's a reaction to all the meds?

I also had Tadalafil dosage increased and Famotidine added for my gut. On day 3 I woke up with a very sore mouth. The inside of my mouth was red and it was so tender I was having difficulty talking.

I gave up stomach protectors PPI’s and was on Famotidine for a bit but don’t take it now. I take one other BP ( Ramipril) before bed. My question is - should I be taking the famotidine or am I unwittingly storing up trouble. I feel fine and have no stomach issues apart from occasional constipation.

Has anyone had side effects from this drug? I have recently been prescribed this drug and my skin is itching. Just wondered if anyone has had this. Thanks.

I’ve tried omeprazole without much luck and have recently started famotidine, but I’m still having flare-ups. I was wondering if anyone here has anything similar and could share their experiences? What symptoms do you deal with, and how do you manage them?

Hello friends, Has anyone been prescribed Famotidine to replace Omeprazole? I’ve been experiencing gut issues for several months now and my gp has suggested a change in H2 antagonist to see if the frequency symptoms resolve.

Hi I was diagnosed with Silent Reflux 3 years ago and after trying several PPIs ended up on Famotidine which I took for several months and altered my diet no coffee, dairy plain food, small meals etc. This stopped the constant sorr throat - I didn’t have any sort cough even when diagnosed.

I have a hiatus hernia and taking Famotidine. However that is not my main problem. More and more over the past few years I’ve noticed that when I eat, within a few minutes afterwards, I get terrible mucus in my sinuses that pours down my throat and makes me cough and choke.

I have a phone appointment with the Pharmacist tomorrow about my raised Cholesterol and Famotidine and Peptac which I am taking for acid reflux, I recently asked to be taken off Omeprazole because of concerns it can cause Dementia over long usage, and it doesn't help Osteoporosis either.

I’m aware of advice not to take a PPI with clopidogrel (I was taking 2 x 20mg esomeprazole when on the Ticagrelor), so was thinking of switching to famotidine. But I’m concerned that this could make things even worse. I was really hoping to be able to take fewer medications rather than more.
