Pneumonia and collapsed lung after catching the ‘100 day cough’
For all you folks who have Lupus, please be careful of this ‘100’ day cough that is going around at the moment, as this is what caused me to end up in hospital. I was diagnosed with Lupus in February 2022. I’ve had a rough ride for the past few years, ending up in hospital every year for one thing

any way to increase ferritin without increasing iron saturation?
after two months of taking iron supplements (75mg every other night on empty stomach), my ferritin rose from 51 to 158. Unfortunately, my iron saturation rose from 46% to 59%. This is caused by fairly high iron (172) and fairly low transferrin (291), though both are within normal range. My doctor

First time posting here with questions
Hello, I was wondering how to tell if you need b12 injections when you take oral b12 and your serum b12 always comes out looking great? I haven't had it tested recently but past tests always come out way over the range. Anyway, I saw a post by @Marz in which she said that she takes b12 due to having

If taking B12 supps skew's PA Intrinsic Factor test, does it do the same for Gastric Parietal Cell AB too?
Hi Everyone, Im a bit out of my depth here and wondered if you could help please. Ive taken B Complex for nearly 25 years, I do wonder whether serum levels have always been scuppered, as I read again that to do a credible PA , MMA test I needed to be off B12 for minimum 4- 6 moths , possibly longer

More Challenges to Overcome!
Some of you may recall that for some years, I've frequently experienced ectopic beats. They've been calmed down with a lowish dose of a beta blocker (Propranolol) and don't usually give me too much cause for concern......until about a week ago when they re-emerged, but with a different manifestation

Can anyone shed some light on Anti CCP antibodies result?
Hi everyone, my name is Claire. I’ve just received back some blood test results (Rheumatoid Factor and Anti CCP antibodies). The Rheumatoid Factor came back negative but the Anti CCP came back as 10.4 K/UL. The test states that normal range is under 2.9 K/Ul yet mine is over 3 times higher. The last

Ramipril
I thought I would share with you my experience of a cough due to ramipril in case it helps someone else as I didn’t believe it would cause such an awful cough. I was prescribed ramipril after having a HA in July last years. No side effects at all. I got an awful cold in November which also came with

Reassurance please
Hi, I have a diagnosis of an autoimmune thyroid condition. Went privately as NHS tests all within range on tests. Waiting on further bloods, which has been difficult to get done, so I can have follow up appointment with private GP for thyroid treatment. Appointment in July. In the interim I did see NHS

10yo daughters results…HELP!
Hello, I have posted before regarding my daughter who is 10yo but we have just had some very unusual and worrying results which may explain her health issues. She has a long term history of low platelets and I’ve been trying to solve this for her as it has been unexplained. We have strong family history

Feel like giving up.
For unknown reasons other than we think Rituxumab is not working for you any more my medication was changed to Kevzera (Sarilulmab) in November. The work up checks were done and good to go apart from a Chest X Ray as I hadn't had one for a while. A shadow area was found on my lung with suspected

Anyone Know About Silent Reflux
Following on from my experience of asthma flare up I'm wondering if like Cade in his post about breathing problems whilst exercising, if I could have silent reflux. It was shortness of breath that led me to seek medical treatment, and even though I had no wheezing or cough the hospital concluded it was

Link between breathing problems and hashimotos/hypothyroidism
So for many months now I had problems with being able to take deep breathes without feeling like I’m restricted. I can no longer do exercise as I just feel tight in the throat and chest. I’ve suffered with anxiety for years. Is there a link between breathing problems and thyroid. I’ve been to my gp and

Help Needed! Have I got Pernicious Anaemia?
I hope this isn't too long and/or too boring. I suspect I have PA but as with a lot of people here, no-one seems to take B12 deficiency seriously. I also have hypothyroidism so as my symptoms got increasingly worse over the past few years, I blamed my thyroid - the two conditions have many symptoms
