Hello, This post is going to sound really trivial and vain, however I promise I am not at all in the slightest. I am 33 and have recently had double presserflo micro shunts fitted and we are 9 months on and my eyes still feel tender when I touch my eye lids. My consultants response was not to

How to increase scarring after trabeculectomy
My husband (30m) had a trabeculectomy in his left eye in August 2023. It is now November 2023 and the IOP is only up to 7. His vision in that eye has never recovered (it does temporarily if he does something a little strenuous like walking up a steep hill). The consultant has said that to prevent

I thought I would just post this from the gov.uk website because I have just a bit of struggle convincing our surgery that I was eligible, so maybe other people haven't been invited either. The full list is on chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk

narrow angles
Hi, first post on this forum, new to all of this. On a recent trip to the opticians, my wife (56) was referred to our local eye clinic with narrow drainage angles. Her ocular pressure is ok and there are no other abnormalities. The referral was quick and she had an appointment at the clinic within

Permanently damaged vision due to dry eyes?
I've had Limited Scleroderma for about 12 years. A year ago, I noticed that the vision in my left eye had become blurred. 3 opticians and 4 opthalmologists later (because I never see the same person twice, and every one starts at the beginning - what a ludicrous system), we have finally reached the

Seek help for your grief
Whether you are a patient or caregiver, there is grief that comes with a serious diagnosis, especially when it's the "C" word. When your loved one dies, it's a different level and kind of grief. When my sister Adrienne died, I pretended for far too long that I was okay. I didn't allow myself

GCA diagnostic dilemma
Thank you everyone who has helped so far. Last night I had a message from Rheumy saying I should go to the hospital for an emergency biopsy, with the headache and unusual severe temporal pain being the driver. He said that U/S was so ‘operator sensitive’ as to be unreliable in this ‘locality’. The

Ophthalmologist Visit
I just wanted to report on the exam by the ophthalmologist today. He said everything looks good. Optic nerve looks fine. He agreed (with all of you!) that my visual disturbances are caused by the steroids. He recommended I talk to my optometrist about prism lenses that will help to correct the double

Had MDD since childhood. Now I have anxiety and panic attacks. I have tried just about every kind of medication and therapy. Nothing helps much. Anyone ever get EMDR for PTSd or hypnotherapy for core beliefs that are negative? I never feel good enough.

GCA Eyesight Anxiety
Hello, I am feeling quite anxious now, because my long-distance sight seems worse today. I am definitely seeing double (at a distance) and cannot focus (distance only.) Up close is clear. (I do have myopia, and have never had any problem with close work, unlike most people my age, which is 65.) I was

Runny eyes
I have recently been diagnosed with suspected glaucoma and prescribed one eye drop a day. Before this I had experienced runny eyes and had been referred to an optician by my GP. She found that I had dry eye. Often now a short while after my eye drop the eye runs briefly. I am worried that the eye drop

declining & blurred sight in one eye
I have glaucoma in my left eye which used to be my dominant eye. The right eye is so far fine although very short-sighted. Sight in left eye is 6/120 and 6/12 in right and I have (again) managed to pass DVLA test. However I do struggle with TV, reading supermarket signs, etc because of the blurred vision

autoimmunity
I went to Laurie Mischley’s alumni camp in August. One of the Labs that I decided to get done called Nuro zoomer I believe, had an interesting result. Turns out I have auto immunity to my glycine receptors. There’s not a whole lot about this online, but apparently in some cases it can cause parkinsonism

Got a job interview. Plus my top 3 choice for therapists in my homecity. Overthinking the decisions
Okay so yesterday was a mayhem. Mom decided to clean while she's off work and got the house upside down, before that the night before that telling sis over and over again to drink water and telling me to tell her. Sis was avoiding me, asked me to stay in the car instead in the café with her, yelled at

Cataract after Preserflo treatment
I'm 4 months after glaucoma surgery / preseflo, I still have blurred vision - today I was diagnosed with a cataract on the operated eye and also retinal swelling. Does anyone have experience with such a case - how to treat it (cataract surgery will help). I will be glad for the reactions - experience
