Restarting the same biologics after allergic reaction?
Hi all, I just wondered whether this has been the case for any one. I was on Cimzia for 5 years, worked the best out of any I’ve ever had. Had quite a few infections and then developed hives and drug induced Lupus. Then tried Enbrel, didn’t work and now on Abatercept infusions again not working.

Thyroidectomy 2014
Hi All! I had a throidectomy in 2015 due to a large benign nodule. I started on levithyroxine but after time started getting joint pain, inflammation and stiffness specifically just in my knees. It became harder and harder to do daily activities including stairs. I decided to switch to Armour thyroid

Off topic: can we reinstate 'off topic' topics?
It's great to have some light relief now & then, and get to know people's hobbies, pets and gardens. Especially the dogs! We used to have a habit of putting 'off-topic' in the title of those sorts of posts, which makes it easy for those who don't want to read them to skip past. And makes it clear

Plaquenil and RA
Reply to Plaquenil. I took it for over 20 years. I believe it was the cause of my gastro (IBS) problems, I Had to go off because I failed my eye field of vision test. Consequently my gastric problems went away a few months after stopping the Plaquenil. I have also taken Enbrel, Humira, Remicade, Simponi

Sudden knee pain
I was ok when I first got up this morning, but as soon as I got out of my chair after tea & toast, I've getting some serious pain in my right knee. I've had knee problems for years but nothing quite like this before. Both knees are swollen, the right being worse. Nothing unusual there but while not hot

Anti CCP +
Hi all, Just curious about fellow patients with anti-ccp positive RA status. I have read that anti-ccp positive typically indicates more aggressive disease course and worse joint erosion. I started enbrel a few months ago and was feeling great, but now I seem to be back where I started. Today I’m in

Introduction
I have had psoriasis since age 7. I developed P. Arthritis 10 years ago. I’m on Enbrel but it seems like it less than directive than when I first started. I can’t be active like I want and if I’m in the same position for too long I have trouble moving at all. I have found that paying attention to diet

Biologics & pain relief
I’ve not had much luck with drugs made for RA. With MRX, for example, I got pneumonia and later read about asthma or lung issues being contraindicated for MTX. The RA doc finally confirmed this. Now I’m looking at biologics with higher, more serious side effects possible. What is the trade off? Do

enbrel/ etenercept/benpali
I was on enbrel/etenercept for ten years and then it stopped working and I have now been through around 6/7 different biologics/anti tnfs and now I'm back to benpali which is enbrel with a different name made by a different manufacturer (Samsung ) I take it with methotrexate and it seemed to be working

Radio 4 programme today on biosimiliar drugs
I heard this rather positive programme stating way forward was for nhs to switch biologic drugs to biosimiliar drugs to save millions. I am afraid to say my experience of drug switching is very dangerous. My husband was on enbrel five for 5 years. He was then switched to Benepali within weeks his behaviour

Severe pain
I recently finished a steroid taper which my doctor provided me with because of severe pain. I finished it about a week ago and the pain immediately returned. Both knees swollen like softballs and strangely enough my right calf muscle is extremely sore and inflamed. It’s swollen all the way into my ankle

Mild symptoms vs drug side effects
I was diagnosed with RA in March. I've tried plaquenil and mtx. Had rotten side effects with both so rheumy has prescribed enbrel. My symptoms are mild. I'm not in pain. It's mostly stiffness and tiredness. Anyone out there with similar symptoms that decided not to take meds? Am worried about side effects

Feeling blue
Hi All At the same Rheumy appt I expressed my opinion that I was not sure if Benepali is working as well as Enbrel. My health authority changed over in March 18. I was assuming that she would offer me back enbrel, since we the patients weren’t given a choice, but informed by letter that we were going

Hi - hoping to find some more information from those of you who are further down this journey please I Now know that I’m being offered Ereli - the biosimilar for Enbrel. Various blood tests to complete and all seemed as straightforward as RA can be - then was told of the side effect of ‘possible
