Apple-shaped body makes you prone to binge-eating
Women with an apple-shaped body are at higher risk for binge-eating, according to a new study. The findings come from Drexel University, where they found apple-shaped women – with more fat stored around their trunk and abdomen – experience a “loss of control” and partake in binge-eating episodes. I’ve done it again!
I have let myself get back into my old ways and I’m really feeling the consequences. I’ve gained almost a stone in the past few weeks and I’ve had to go buy new jeans again, something I really didn’t want to do! And I’m down to a handful of tshirts. I really thought I was going to get somewhere a month

Hard to lose weight
Hello all. I am pretty sure some of you have dealt with something similar to what I am about to explain. I never had an issue with my weight until I turned 17. I was on a bunch of different mood stabilizers, one in particular called abilify, made me gain 50 pounds. It seems like I have really been having

Weigh in at the chemist!
Hi! I knew I had gained a few pounds, but I was shocked and horrified to learn that I was way over my usual comfortable weight!! I have a heart condition and on 2 different heart meds, so was kind of blaming that! I am not as active as I used to be (I am 51). I decided to do a weigh-in at Boots

Holiday booked and too thin?
Hooray! booked flight to Mauritius for Easter. So added motivation to maintain my weight, if it was needed. Tried some of my summer stuff on and it is all a little loose. No bad thing in a hot climate, but am loo king at buying sundresses and swimsuits in my new slim sizes and my favourite shop has

I don't know what to do
I'm a 16 year old girl. Last year I lost a lot of weight leaving me underweight, I was taken to the doctors and nothing happened, because it was quick "weight loss", my gp wanted to work out my Bmi so she asked me my weight and I lied. I told her I was 6lbs heavier than I was. So nothing happened, so

Losing Weight
Hi everyone! I have been struggling to lose my weight. My weight hasn't been stable for the past few months, i have gained about 20 kgs since the beginning of 2015. I have tried to get my self into some diet programs but still not get any progress yet. Sometimes I feel so depressed until I consider to

Statistics.... needing to find my positives.
I weighed myself when I got in from work yesterday morning to find I had stayed the same. I won't lie, I was disappointed - very disappointed. I know that I shouldn't weigh on a Monday as when it comes after my long weekend in work ( appx 42 hours on night shifts). I am a little 'bloated' with slightly

tubbycat broke her ankle
I was over weight before I broke my ankle in August and now an half a stone heavier having done no exercise for weeks. In the swimming pool I looked at others who were very overweight and flipped into determination mode- I want to look OK in a swimsuit (no rolls of fat!) and be fit. I have dieted for

Week 46
Hi everyone, I am really pleased with this weeks results. I have lost 3 lbs :-) This week I have been concentrating on combining strength exercises with cardio and it appears to have worked. It's a very tiring routine and one which makes you sweat a lot, but the results have been worth it. I knew

New scales
My old scales were less than a tenner...definately something 99 from Asda or Tesco . Perhaps twenty years old or maybe more. Measured in stones and had a big dial at the top...and definately no batteries. I had to put my big toe into the hole on the right hand , or should I say foot, side to feel as

Weight Loss Goal Achieved
I achieved my weight loss goal three weeks ago in Week 33. I meant to write this then but now is better than never. I actually exceeded my goal which myself and my doctor are super happy about. I couldn't have done it without using various resources at my disposal, i.e. this forum, my doctor, myfitnesspal

Hmmmm Not quite what I expected.
Well its been a hectic couple of weeks which have severely disrupted all sorts of positive routines and choices. The eating was going well. Good nutrient rich food every day. Regular big exercise - running 3 times a week and cycling nearly 100 miles a week. No drinking. Plenty of time working on the

Sad :-(
I started using the NHS Healthy eating 12 week planner back in April this year. Going to weight control classes is simply not for me full stop. I had 6 stone to lose to reach my target weight. By July I had lost 2 stone 2lb. I simply followed a healthy eating plan into my day and started walking everywhere

Understanding Counting calories and amount each day.
Hello I only joined last week and wondered if anyone can help me , I worked out my BMI on the nhs site and thought as I have so much to lose(18.2 and 5ft 7inchs last week) I would use their calorie intake as my daily amount rather than the 1400 recommended. The thing is the amount they give is so broad
