Lupron while on Zytiga.
Lupron works by blocking testosterone manufactured in the testicles. Zytiga blocks testosterone from being manufactured in the testicles, Adrenal glands, and cancer cells themselves. So, while on Zytiga, what's the benefit of continuing Lupron? I'm asking because due to the coronavirus outbreak, I'm

Lost Libido
In 2017 had 24 sessions of EBRT and 2 SBRT. Was on Lupron for 18 mos. I have been off ADT almost 2yrs. and have zero libido. Erections came back about a year after ADT. My testosterone is 520 and PSA 0.4 at present. My partner has been extremely patient and I am more upset than he. Will it ever return

Covid19 hysteria delaying radiation
Hi everyone, I had prostatectomy winter 2019 and began Lupron Jan 2020. Gleason 9 and spread to 1 lymph node. PSMA scan was clean. Was to start 40 rounds of radiation last Tuesday but in consult with several of my oncologists we postponed due to virus risks traveling back and forth from Brooklyn to

Yes, another COVID-19 post. Important.
New info of concern to the group. By now, most will know that ADT as monotherapy is not immunosuppressive. Testosterone [T] at normal-high levels is immunosuppressive. To that extent, those who had high T before ADT will have removed a risk factor. I don't know how low T has to go before we can ignore

Confusing Blood Test Results
Hi, I'd welcome your thoughts on recent results please, some seem a bit strange and I'm unsure whether I need to change dose (currently on 50mg Levothyroxine and 25mg Liothyronine). I had the test at 9am, fasting and took meds after the test. I use the Better You sprays for Vit D and Vit B, and also

Low testosterone result
Hi, new member here, I was having some issues and I suspected my testosterone level was low. My GP would not give me a blood test, though so I got one privately. The result came back at 7.01 nmol/L, which is considered low (I'm 37). I'm having a further blood test done soon. My question is how low

Terrified of more ADT, looking for advice
In 2015, I quit ADT 12 months into a 24 month sentence because I couldn't stand it any longer. PSA rising 4 years later. Terrified. Looking for advice. To elaborate: The side effects: fatigue, hot flashes, sexlessness, mental fog, aches, and depression became overwhelming at about the 8 month mark.

Health Risks Associated With Long-Term Finasteride and Dutasteride Use: It's Time to Sound the Alarm
New paper below, [1]. Nalakrats & I believe there is a role for a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor in advanced PCa. Some disagree. I would be remiss if I didn't point out that long-term use (as with all PCa drugs) has a downside: "This treatment may result in development of non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases

Causes of high SHBG in men and treatment options?
High SHBG levels in a man. This is a follow up to a previous post I made a few months back regarding erectile dysfunction, low libido and delayed ejaculation. After a round about trip I finally managed to get an appointment with an NHS endocrinologist. From blood testing they determined I had quite high

Salvage Radiation Delay due to COVID 19
RO Mychalczak at Memorial Sloan Kettering Westchester (just outside Manhattan) wants to delay my 8 weeks of salvage radiation to Pelvic Lymph Nodes Prostate Bed due to Pandemic. Suggesting a 3 month shot of Lupron to keep PSA down in the interim My concern is that the Lupron may be keeping the PSA

Is surgery, radiation or Lu-177 therapy appropriate for my case?
Hello everyone, I am 60 years old and was diagnosed with prostate cancer (Gleason score 9) that spread to the regional lymph nodes. On January 1st, both my urologist and medical oncologist determined that I will not benefit from surgery or radiation and put me systematic ADT (Eligard: 22 mg/3 months

Stats... devils (or angels) in the details?
I came across an interesting example of why it can be worthwhile to dig into the details that underlie statistic-based conclusions. (And I wasn't really digging that hard, this one fell into my lap.) In considering anti-androgen monotherapy as an initial systemic treatment for my metastatic 3+4=7 PC,

Misleading info about ADT being protective against the Covid-19 virus.
I've been reading posts by tall Allen, how androgen deprivation therapy is protective against Covid-19 virus and this is very concerning to me because nothing that he's putting out there is showing a study of proof of this being so. The reality is nobody really knows. I've included a link to a news

Looking for ideas how to decrease constant fatigue
I'm new here and to online groups. If this isn't the right place for these questions maybe someone can point me in the right direction: About six months ago my spouse was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. He's on Lupron and Zytiga; just had radiation to decrease bone pain. He's trying hard

IVF Day 5 of Gonal-F
Hi all, so I've been doing stim injections of Gonal-F, tonight is my 5th one. I've had 2 scans in the past few days. I have quite a few follicles (she never told me how many, but I counted at least 10 to 12 on the screen!). They are all still quite small... the first lady said they are all under 10mm

When does T come back?
Thinking about taking a holiday from ADT this summer. How long does it usually take for testosterone to come back? Thanks.
