IVF Day 5 of Gonal-F

Hi all, so I've been doing stim injections of Gonal-F, tonight is my 5th one. I've had 2 scans in the past few days. I have quite a few follicles (she never told me how many, but I counted at least 10 to 12 on the screen!). They are all still quite small... the first lady said they are all under 10mm, the second person said I see your biggest is at 8mm. Is this normal at this stage? My progesterone is 1.2 they said and my E2 estradiol was 700ish. Does anyone know if my numbers and follicle sizes sound ok??

This is the farthest I've got (my last IVF cycle was cancelled day 4 of stims as well), so feeling unsure! πŸ˜” Any insight would be appreciated, thank you ladies!!

For some people I think it takes up to 2 weeks to grow to the right size, hang in there! Good luck xx

Hi Chel. I am day 6 of stim Gonal-F injections today (like you). My first proper scan is today (I had one last Wednesday but that was pre-injections) so I'm going in to this round quite blind! I never know whether more or less information is better! 10-12 follicles sounds awesome! No idea on the numbers as my clinic only does follicle size, but these can work on their own timeline and also depends on the meds you're on! xxx

You can’t really rely on the scans until you are ready to pull the trigger. I stimmed for 13 days, maybe 14, and it wasn’t until egg collection that my follicles had jumped from 9 over 15mm to 14 over 15mm!! We were so concerned mid way the scans, but actually there is nothing you can do especially when things change and grow day to day.

:) good luck xx

Thank you for your response! 😊 I was worried that others had theirs getting big at 7 / 8 days, but glad to hear 14 days is normal too. I'm crossing my fingers, got my next scan tomorrow (Thursday) 😬 xx

Hi Chel. 7-10 days is the norm, but some ladies need a few days more, so hopefully you will be fine. Thinking of you. Diane
