Salvage Radiation Delay due to COVID 19

RO Mychalczak at Memorial Sloan Kettering Westchester (just outside Manhattan) wants to delay my 8 weeks of salvage radiation to Pelvic Lymph Nodes Prostate Bed due to Pandemic. Suggesting a 3 month shot of Lupron to keep PSA down in the interim My concern is that the Lupron may be keeping the PSA undetectable but is the cancer still growing and migrating ?

I had a full body MRI (no mets ) but no scans (PSA too low)

Quick History. 60 years old very active

I had RALP at MSK on 8/16/18 MY Pretreatment PSA was 6.23 ng/ml

Post Surgery Gleason Primary 3 Secondary 4 Total Gleason 7. Grade Group 2

Clinical Stage. T 1 C NO MX Tumor Type Adenocarcinoma Primary Tumor pT2 Organ confined Perineural Invasion identified No Lymph Node or Seminal Vessel metastasis

First detectable Post Surgery PSA 13 months later was 9/18/19. .07.

2/10/20 PSA was .13

2/25/20 1 month shot of Lupron and 50 mg of Casodex

3/25/20 PSA undetectable Testosterone now 0. (was 717 on 2/10/20)

I wonder if other cancer institutions like Yale are still performing Radiation ?

Thank You All my Brothers can not do this without you !!

Lupron stops the cancer from growing, not just the PSA.

Thank You TA. I have relied on you for so much valuable information You and this board have been my inspiration that I can win this personal war !!

Any comment on waiting it out for 3 -4 months vs looking for another RO to begin Salvage Radiation. ?

You have to wait at least a couple of months after the Lupron shot to begin radiation anyway. 4 months is no problem.

Thank You TA. Oh boy I was not aware ! Why is that ?? I might be wrong but I thought RO said they can be done simultaneously ?? Lupron / Radiation ?

Because the hormone therapy makes the cancer more prone to killing by radiation.

Thanks Whimpy-p. I appreciate your support ! I run and workout every day but this lack of Testosterone takes my mojo away ! I know so many of you are facing harder decisions

So I should have little to complain about. !

Mojo? What’s that? Don’t worry about others . We have many in end stage right now . We don’t want you anywhere near that . You’re going to be alright. A lot of it is hormonal and phycological. Practicing daily happiness is a must . I went into the Niagara Falls of deep depression for three years . A total waste of limited energy. Accepting what you must do is it.. Then go for it ! and heal your self .. a year from now we hope that you will be in a much better place ? 😎

Mojo? What’s that? I kind of remember that . 🧐 I’ve been clear on cruise control over four years Damage done with Rt and adt . But I’m still here. Most thought me a goner .. explaining APC sounds like we are aleays complaining and it’s true . It’s a bitch for us . Hey so are many other diseases. Lucky if we only have one . You one buffed hombre. Push through working out and never stop. If we fall in lethargy and stay dormant we will

Fade away from the adt. Save yourself any way you choose . Take care and stay sharpcut ✌️💪

Your active life style will help. The more active I am, the less side affects are noticed.
