Hormone testing and Endo

I just wanted to share with you – I've just been to a private clinic to get my hormones tested and it's come back with very low testosterone and low oestrogen, I'm also waiting for my laparoscopy at the moment and planning on having the coil at the same time. Has anyone else looked into their hormone levels in great detail at the same time as all of the Endo symptoms?

I'm hopeful that with regular hormone blood tests, the excision treatment and the bespoke HRT I may finally get some balance back in my life.

I'm 45 so fertility isn't something I'm having to add to my list of worrys, but feel like I've literally fallen off a cliff with low mood, depression, lack of brain power, and zero motivation, they do add low sex drive to the list but frankly with the pain, I have no interest in that anyway.

Also as an aside, just to add to sexist NHS female health frustration, testosterone for women isn't licensed in the UK so I'm having to pay to get it from Australia, but if I was a guy with some stupid willy issues I'd get it on the NHS.. FFS (can I swear on here!)

Hi. That all sucks big time. I’m around the same age as you. Aren’t our hormones on the wain anyway because of perimenopause?

They are, but when they create an imbalance depending on how your body responds you can face crippling symptoms.. that just get ignored.

Just keep an eye on the low mood, you just feel like .. can’t be arsed, cancel on events, isolate socially etc. If you got to the GP with the symptoms you’ll find yourself on anti depressants before you can walk out of the door.

I just wish there was more awareness for women to get hormone tests.
