Friedman - DHT, etc..
Reading Friedman's book on hormones and lowering DHT ... but he states that higher levels of DHT decrease Bcl-2 and the proteins that protect the prostate cancer cells from dying. DHT lowers Bcl-2 levels five times more than T (p176) and low Bcl-2 is a good thing, leading to more apoptosis. Then he goes

Sickness after stopping medication
Hi, I had a BFN on Monday and so stopped taking all of my medication that morning. I was taking prednisolone, progesterone pessaries and estradiol. On Monday evening I started being sick, this continued every half an hour for the whole night. It was horrific. I had stomach pains as well so put it down

Ranting today: bloody lazy lining (before FET)!! Always too thin... we're close to giving up
Sorry I need to scream... my lining is so bloody lazy, day 11 today, scan shows 6.4 mm, not quite trilaminar... I am already on a relatively high dosage of estradiol and it scares me A LOT to have to take estradiol for much longer, or even to increase the dosage, I am so worried about risks, that's the

Round 4 - what a palava... And what to do next??
Long ramble alert! I've just had an intense few days in ivf world, and now have a tricky decision to make. I was hoping to start my round 4 in September, but my period didn't come. I just waited and waited, it got to 7 weeks and I had half given up I was so tired with the emotional and logistical limbo

Anyone taking estradiol vaginally to prepare the lining?
Hi there, I would be interested to know who out there is taking estradiol vaginally (to prepare for the lining, but also after embryo transfer), and if so what were you told about it compared to orally. Also, if you take it vaginally, can you let me know whether it is Progynova, Estrofem, or anything

Another month long wait!
So yesterday’s scan showed that my womb lining was very thick and there was a follicle larger than they would expect for d2 of my cycle. So they took some bloods to look at my hormone profile. Back today for another scan and results. Lining was thinner but oestradiol was borderline high. Some concern

Bladder and estrogen
Have a question regarding bladder health. Had a total hysterectomy. Have no ovaries, no uterus, etc. I use the .5 estradiol patch. I am only 44 and was told I need alot more estrogen. My level was 70. I developed a UTI (only the second one in my whole life) and it's taken me months to get rid of it

How to get fully well?
Hello, I’m male 28 years old. 2 years ago I was hypothyroid and 50 mcg Euthyrox made me feel fantastic on daily basis, but I felt unstable, messed up with doses and ended up overdosed by T4. Now I supplement thyroid hormone for the past 3 months. My symptoms – classic hypothyroid symptoms – gradually

surgical menopause
Hello all. I had a partial hysterectomy 19 years ago and a BSO almost 4 years ago. I have been on 1 mg estradiol per day since. I have found that my hot flashes, mood swings and fatigue/joint pain have indeed been (somewhat) helped by the HRT. Lately though, I have found that I occasionally miss a dose

I'm feeling the estradiol side effects... not much fun
I don't like to complain but I am not feeling very well and perhaps this might help... I have started estradiol last week, on a low dose, in preparation for FET, and in addition to having nausea and headache this morning I am also now feeling dizzy and lightheaded. This happened last time as well, various
