So it goes. One embryo left, and still we dis not manage to get my lining ready. It reached 7.2mm with triple line on Tuesday and today after 19 days of estradiol and three scans over a week (not cheap) it is down to 6.5 with triple line breaking. It is maddening. I found the 2ww quite relaxing compared to this torture! It is entirely mysterious why the lining sometimes grow and sometimes does not, and utterly independenf from anything I do (I must have tried everything, to no avail - the result is always unpredictable). Ladies, this is madness ๐คช. My frustration today is at maximum level. I thought we had found the right dosage for me. Nope. ๐ค Sorry for the rant, but I have no other channel to vent this. Anyway I will enjoy a nice beer tonight. Lots of good wishes to all, wherever you are at. ๐

Hi Vanna, I know the feeling! I have had 2 cancelled cycles so far. I have never made it to transfer and itโs so frustrating as we have 7 beautiful embies waiting for us in the freezer. The thickest my lining has ever got on high doses of estradiol was 4.5mm, the next cycle was a higher dose and only got to 3-4mm. That was taking 10-16mg a day. I felt terrible and it sure is frustrating when itโs supposed to be the thing that works for everyone! Well it doesnโt for me unfortunately After trying vitamin E, L-arginine, eating only warming foods/drinks, acupuncture, Brazil nuts and Pom juice you name it, I thought I had tried it all and had run out of options. Then I was reading about the success with viagra, although itโs still a bit experimental, my dr actually suggested we try it at our follow up appointment, and he prescribed me 4 x 25mg to insert everyday. So the next cycle we had a natural cycle, just a trial run with the vitamin E and viagra. My lining was triple strip and 6.4mm by ovulation. I was in tears lol because my lining had never looked so healthy and thick before! If you are already responding to estradiol, maybe you could ask your dr about viagra to give your lining an extra boost? It basically helps with the blood flow to that area to support the lining growth and structure. So now we are doing our next FET at the end of Jan and will be taking the vitamin e and viagra, and my dr also wants to do 2 rounds of something called G-CSF which goes into the uterus. I have never tried that before and is also a bit experimental, but has been proven to help so itโs worth a try. As long as I get near 7 he is happy to transfer. Itโs the best news Iโve had all year and I canโt wait for the 25th of Jan now to start our next cycle.
I know itโs frustrating and itโs not easy to be faced with this at all, but try your best not to worry as it will only make things worse. Our bodies are very clever and can tell when there is added stress. I have learnt this can also affect the lining so try lots of acupuncture and yoga or things that help you unwind, if you arenโt doing this already. You still have lots of options and your certainly not alone in feeling frustrated and needing to vent. At least we can give our bodies a break over Christmas, have some fun with our friends and family, and be ready to take the next step in the new year! I hope you have a lovely Christmas x
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. It is interesting to learn how differently everyone responds to estradiol. I tried viagra last summer, did not do anything I am afraid. I tried both medicated and natural cycles, but had to give up on the latter as my cycles stopped. I got back on the hormones in September and managed to have 2 FETs, so I was hoping to have the last one this month (only one embryo left) as work will be stressful from next month/year and I have been stress free this autumn. I am not really worried, I am exasperated, I want this to be over, I would never had gone into this had I known it could be so complicated and expensive and hard on my body. My husband is deflated too, we want to move on. Anyway... I really wish you all the very very best for the next preparation, it sounds like you had a really difficult time!! You deserve a good cycle ๐ and 7 embies is amazing btw!! Good luck !! Xxx
How incredibly frustrating for you hon. I hope some of the suggestions above will be able to help you and 2019 is your year!!
Thanks... I do not really want to drag this longer though... we shall see... have a great end of year ๐ค xx
Aw sorry to read this! Bloody linings! Have you tried a more natural cycle with added progynova? My lining always shrunk back when on medicated patches, but doesnโt if left to be more natural, it took 3 consecutive cycles to be cancelled before they let me try it and is def better for me, but then I do ovulate like clockwork every month so does make it a bit easier. Hope they can sort something soon xx
Thanks yes we talked about this... unfortunately I don't have regular cycles anymore no chance of trying natural. It is now 14 months since first attempt and i managed to have two FETs only the last two cycles. Fun ๐ค. I read about your recent FET I keep my fingers crossed for you xxx
Sorry to hear this. Sounds like youโve received some good advice here. Enjoy your beer xx
Cheers ๐บ
my lining never gets Thick 7mm it was only 6.2 at transfer after 4 cancelled cycles due to lining issues . we went ahead and I got my BFP today so don't give up. they are scientists after all and not every body is the same that's why we all wear different sized clothes eh! x
Oh wow that is interesting news! Did you have a triple line? I would have gone ahead with the 7 mm (the trilaminar structure was nice on Tuesday) but the doctor wanted it thicker, so we waited. We might have missed the boat.. and what boat. I was hoping to be done with the third and finally last transfer by the end of the year... anyway great to hear about your BFP!! ๐ and thanks for the reply ... xxx
Hi
I was just going to suggest the same as above-maybe they are waiting too long? Once my day 14 scan had reached 7.8mm they gave me progesterone to maintain the lining thickness (as well as continue the oestrogen )
I wonder by leaving so long the lining is breaking down as it normally would by that time without progesterone
Also possibly ask about blood clotting testing? If there's any issue with that then blood thinners or even aspirin may help too (if the Viagra does the same thing blood thinners might be safer as prescribed quite often?)
P.s I just also read that vitamin D is instrumental in uterus lining and how oestrogen works in the uterus. Do you supplement? It may be during the winter months now you've become deficient as most of us are. The normal daily allowance isn't enough if you are deficient. Might be worth testing to see what your levels actually are x
Yes I thought it was too long a wait but they weren't happy with 7mm. If I try again I will ask to try with that if there is a triple line. Our hope are very low anyway at this stage! Do you know why blood clotting might be an issue for the lining? It is also just unpredictable last month i got to 8.5mm on day 15... puzzling! Thanks so much btw xxx
Any blood clotting issues will affect blood supply to the womb I believe (and obvious rest of body too) so ideally you want a healthy blood supply to help develop lining as well as the baby later on.
Sometimes women who don't even have an issue respond to aspirin etc anyway (my consultant said that there aren't tests for every single factor) so is worth trying.
If you search clexane/heparin/aspirin on this forum you should see lots of posts about it
Ok interesting.. thank you!!
Yes my lining was perfectly formed just not "thick" as I say you never know I wasnt too hopeful as they said 7mm but here we are and it worked . My body must just not go to the 7 and I'm glad I did just go ahead now. There are plenty of positive story's on here with "thin" linings . You just never know xox
Ok i think then i will try next month again, hopefully for the very last time, and go ahead even if it is not too thick (hopefully at least 7 mm) but looks nice otherwise, with a nice triple line. Thank you!! Xx
Awww VannaGio, so gutted for you!๐๐ฏ I've only ever had this once when we were prepping for our fresh DE cycle....its sooo hard! Never knew why it happened but may just be a one off honey. Just so frustrated for you!!๐ฅ Hope you've enjoyed that drink, you deserve it!!xxx
Thanks as always... wish it were a one off but it looks more like it is the good cycles that are the exception ๐. Yes thanks I enjoyed my glass of wine ๐ท although a beer would have been preferable ๐. Good night and best wishes I hope you are ok xxx
Hi Vanna. I am in a very similar situation at the minute! I just had my 4th cycle cancelled on Tuesday due to my lining not being thick enough and had the same issue when I returned for second scan, it had reduced thickness! It is so frustrating. Iโve had one transfer before and definitely think the tww was easier than this! My clinic are reviewing my notes etc and am going for an appointment to see next steps. Not much help but I sometimes think itโs good to hear you are not alone. Going to try to enjoy the festive season, ready to go again in the new year xxx
Ah damn it I am so sorry for you and understand very well how you feel, it is unfathomable. I am not sure there is anything that clearly helps. Well if you find a solution let me know. I so wish you get there eventually, although sooner than later!! ๐๐๐ท๐ทxxx
I know how you feel..l've just had my fet cancelled for the second time. I really thought I would respond this time. My lining only reached 4mm on day 14 scan. I'm on 2mg x 3 progynova and 2x 75 of estradot patches every 48hrs and still no improvement. At 45 I fear it's too late for me and with only 1 blast left I need this to work. Now we need to investigate so next step hysteroscopy .. let's hope the new year will bring us all good news. X
P.s . Just wondering ...I'm so bloated and getting random spots from all the meds and really constipated.. anyone else having similar side effects
Hi, looks like we are in very similar conditions, i was on exactly the same dose, and will be 45 in March ๐. I am not sure lining issues are age related, though, two friends of mine at 43 had no problems! And btw yes, i do not feel well on hormones. For me it is: bloated, weight gain, constipated, nausea, tender painful breasts. I am praying that next time (month) we will do the last transfer as I am really fed up. Good luck for the hyesteroscopy, i would be curious to see if they find anything, let me know if you can. Best wishes xx
