Migraine management
I'm seventy and have had severe migraine all my life. I'm currently on my fifteenth cycle of Botox treatment and I also have a nerve stimulator. I mention these facts just to indicate that I've tried just about everything. There have been dozens of prophylactics over the years, from Amitriptyline to

Long term Lamictal side effects!
I was put onto Epilim on December 2013, after the wild 'electric shock' episodes I was having with Lamictal, which would happen just before I went to sleep, it did not hurt at the time, and the severity would seemingly be random. Sometimes being thrown out of the bed, even twice in one night! A large

Hi everyone, I've just joined this site today to see if I can get help with a few things although I've been part of an epilepsy group in Edinburgh for quite a while. I have had epilepsy since I was around 4 when I cracked my head open and since then have been on all the different types of medication

Pregablin
Has anyone experienced any side effects from taking Pregablin within the first 6-8 months. I've been prescribed it to help with nocturnal seziures, in addition to taking Epilim. It seems to have stopped the nocturnal seziures but wonder if it causes any other side effects.

Can cannabis set off an epileptic seizure?
I was using cannabis medication with my epilepsy medication, and I had a seizure, my first since late 2015. I have recently been put on Fycompa, but I think it was the side effects of the cannabis that set it off? I changed from Epilim to Fycompa starting at Christmas, but have been on the Cannabis about

Epilepsy starting to worsen.
I firstly started with epilepsy in 1985 and for 15 years really suffered with it. After that time, I was put on the medication I'm on now which controlled it to a point. However, over the last few months it seems like it's come back with a vengeance. I've started to have seizures of a day time leaving

Just in need of moral support
I was diagnosed with epilepsy after having my son 3 years ago. I had eclampsia with my son and had a seizure during labour. I then had another seizure 7 weeks later and was put into Epilim. I was then changed from that due to side effects to Keppra. I was steady on that for a year and then in January

You have the ability to recover
Hi Everyone, this is the first time I have spoken about my epilepsy and I hope this will give you all the hope to recover from your epilepsy without having to rely on pills. The first time I had a seizure was when I was 17 and my Doctor decided to give me pills to treat my epilepsy but I seem to notice

Epilim Tab 100mg (sodium valproate) Control of seizures and fits.
Neuropathic tests were made after I suffered a long progression of fits and seizures landed me in Emergency. My last seizure happened while a Cat scan was being conducted in the Imaging Center. While laying down (I was "told" when I awoke the day later in Hospital) a Grand mal fit with unknown cause.

Tired effects of Epilim ?
I have been taking various medications for epilepsy for over 40 years, trying most alternatives in the same field, Epilim medication is effective in the lessening in my number of seizures. But I find Epilim especially bad for sleep patterns. When I wake I always find that I'm more tired than when I went

New to epilepsy/seizures.
Hi I'd like to tell a bit of my story and grateful for any advice or feedback. I am a Community Mental Health nurse and driving is close to an essential requirement. I suffered a severe head injury around age 20. I'm now 49 and qualified as a nurse in 2005. I do have a long history of anxiety and depression
