Post surgery
Well it's now 4 weeks since my TAH and bowel resection. Recovery seems slow to me but everyone keeps telling me to slow down. I had my 5th chemo on Thursday and am feeling very nauseous - taking all the drugs I can. I am breathless too but chest X-rays show clear for fluid. Hanging on in there at

I might be heading for a bowel resection for endometriosis. Has anyone else had one? How was it?
I am quite scared of waking up with a stoma and hopefully won't be permanent as they have warned I may need one. It could only be for 3 months. I have 2 large nodules on bowel one is 5cm. Trying not to lose the plot as I also want to have a baby through ivf and I'm nearly 39. How long do I wait to try

Ovarian cancer chemotherapy treatment helpful knowledge.
I believecI have had Ovarian Cancer 2 years, but I was diagnosed only in June 2017. I was in very bad shape, I had cysts on both of my ovaries, on my spleen, on my bowels, colon and periotanel cavity. I had surgery on Aug 17th, a complete hysteroctomy, spleen removal, 2 parts of my colon were removed

Post surgery fertility blues!
So I had my 3rd surgery in July I awoken to find they had to perform a laparotomy, bowel resection and stoma, and stents in kidney tubes. So I'm just about recovered physically I only had this procedure as an attempt to conceive naturally to be told in hospital that it wouldn't be possibly due to scar

Just joined looking for dietary advice post bowel op.
New member Hi I joined after reading some answers to a food intolerance testing question that I found helpful. In 2012 I had a bowel resection after which I put on a lot of weight despite being quite careful. I also found things that were supposedly "good" ie lentils, pulses, didn't do me any favors

Post Op Anxiety
Hi, I have been clear from anxiety for a long time, however I had quite a major bowel resection op on 12th July. Been home for 3 weeks and am suffering awful anxiety. My question is - is this anxiety or is it a medical issue caused by the op i.e. Anaemia or extreme tiredness or infection. Thinking this

Feel like I have too many decisions to make.
Hey ladies, sorry for the long post. On the 9th of August I went in for what I was hoping would be a fairly substantial excision surgery with the potential for bowel resection but woke up in recovery to be told that they had drained two massive cysts on both ovaries, one of which was 8'' and basically

Bowel trouble
Hi Just over 2 years ago I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and complete bowel resection after many years suffering stage 4 endo and adenomyosis. I have felt amazing until a few months ago when I have had trouble with my bowel and it causing great back pain. About a year after surgery I had a sigmoidoscopy

Post op Endo excison and bowel resection.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to update you on my situation. I had endo and bowel surgery 10 weeks ago. I was initially more nervous of the bowel prep! However, it was not quite as bad as I expected despite not being pleasant! I had my bowel prep at home which was more psychologically comfy being in my

Sigmoid resection
Hi all, I have had had 2 laps in the past 3 years to confirm endo in my bowel (sigmoid, a 3cm patch that is full thickness of the bowel wall). My consultant has advised surgery, a resection of that part of the bowel, they hope to anastomise it. The weird thing is that I do not have endo anywhere else

Adhesions following surgery
Does anyone else here have moderate to severe pain following major surgery? I had a bowel resection 3 years ago, and have now had lower back pain for a couple of years. My GP says the problem is scar tissue and adhesions caused by the surgery. I can't find anyone who has the same problem. Thanks in advance

Night sweats
I apologise if this problem has already been discussed here, but I have been having horrendous night sweats for months. I am on b12 injections 3 monthly, but have been deteriorating health-wise since a bowel resection 20+ years ago so have probably been deficient for many years, undiagnosed till last

GP
Hi. Long story short, I had a bowel resection 20 years ago. I was given no advice or guidance from hospital or GP on how to cope with possible consequences. After ten or so years, I realised my health was deteriorating and was told by several GPs that depression was causing my body to degrade. Last year

Endo removal & possibl bowel surgery....anyone had it done??
Hi ladies not been on in a while as i've been put at the botton of the list by accident so waited along time for my surgery to come around. That & the fact i need two surgeons to do my op, has proven tricky to get a op date. I'm going in for stage 4 endo removal & possible bowel resection. Maybe a stoma

A whole host of 'issues'...
Hi, I'm new here and feeling pretty desperate for a boost... As I'm sure you all know nothing is ever simple so I'll try and be as simplistic as I can to summarise my story so far! My husband and I have been TTC for 5 years. I'm type 1 diabetic and have an underactive thyroid. After a few years of TTC

Painful sex after hysterectomy
Hi there. I'm 3 months post total laparoscopic hysterectomy and bowel resection due to endometriosis. I had sex for the first time since surgery and bled a lot and was in severe pain throughout my whole abdomen. Bad enough that I called the doc on call. She was the nurse practitioner and blamed it on

Back pain/sciatic nerve issues
Hi all. This is my first post here. I was diagnosed with endo stage 4, 13 years ago. I have always been in pain and it has curtailed my life in so many ways. I am lucky to have only had 4 operations, for a bowel resection, pelvic excision (all my organs needed separating), endometrial cysts and a diagnostic
