Just over 2 years ago I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and complete bowel resection after many years suffering stage 4 endo and adenomyosis. I have felt amazing until a few months ago when I have had trouble with my bowel and it causing great back pain. About a year after surgery I had a sigmoidoscopy to check the connections from bowel resection but all was normal.
My husband keeps asking if I'm sure the endo isn't back. Has anyone else experienced problems a long time after surgery?

I'm not able to answer your question, but I just wanted to wish you all the best and hope you get some answers and less pain soon. In all honesty, I can imagine in a few years I'll be in the same situation as yourself - having a total hysterectomy and bowel resection, as I have stage 4 Endo and many adhesions. Also, great deal of back pain.
I don't know enough about Endo to be honest. I think, it never actually completely goes away despite whatever we do. Depending on whether you still have your ovaries or are taking tablets for HRT. I think if you do get a 'period' monthly then, I believe it's at this time the Endo will continue wherever it is in the body. However, if you no longer have one, then I'm not sure to be honest.
I'm sorry someone more knowledgeable hasn't been able to answer this one for you. I hope you can work out what is causing you pain, and you don't have too much. It can be so debilitating and unfair - especially after you've been through so much already. Maybe you could go back to your GP or the hospital (and ask for a scan?)
