Well it has been a whirlwind couple of weeks. Hubby home from New Zealand after 7 weeks with his kids, glad he did as it may be the last time they see him. Off to specialist with him as he is getting very deaf and I suspect early stages of dementia so doesn't understand what is being said to him. He

Can endo be totally missed?
Have also the symptoms of endometriosis even had laparoscopy today as well as
endometrial
ablation
but doctor said organs looked fine and could see no sign of endo. I'm so stressed now because no one at the hospital could tell me what the next step is.

Good news
Cardiology Department telephoned me today and said they had had a cancellation and would I like to go in next Wednesday at 9a.m. for AV node ablation. As long as blood test is ok, which is on Monday, it is all systems go. As I have said before, my EP is brilliant and it is because of this forum giving

Ablation - My Experience
Just wanted to write a post in regards to my recent Catheter Ablation. I have posted quite a lot over the last few months and thought it only fair to let everyone know how I got on and put some peoples mind at rest over catheter ablation. I arrived at John Radcliffe Angioplasty ward at 7.30am 21st

My latest misjudgement
felt very strange after a few hours of taking first Digoxin. Was in a brain-fog which continued to get worse and I felt ill. Decided to stop it as felt I was being poisoned. At next appointment saw different cardiologist (never see same one) He doubled dose of Bisoprolol 10mg and I became a zombie, no

Persistent AF following 2 x Cardioversions = Hybrid Ablation, stage 1.
I have had 2 Cardioversions which each lasted approx 12 months but then went into persistent AF in March 2014. As my ability to carry on with my sporting lifestyle (I'm now 66 ) worsened I asked to be referred to my Consultant with a view to the new Hybrid Ablation procedure. I didn't meet the criteria

Catheter Ablation explained in simple terms
Here is a great website that explains the catheter ablation in a very simple way. Good for first timers, it is animated so it is a good example. I have had two of these ablations. The first one was successfully done however the AF returned resulting in a second Ablation exactly 12 months later. The

Unrelated operation
Brief History - Persistent AF since March 2013. Unsuccessful Cardioversion August 2013. Catheter Ablation Feb 2014 - good for 7 weeks. Amiodarone 200mg from May 2014 converted back to NSR without Cardioversion. Amiodarone reduced 100mg August 2014, persistent AF again from October 2014. Back up to 200mg

Are you in hospital long after catheter ablation?
Hi I will be having a catheter ablation early in the new year. I know what to expect in relation to procedure, but can I ask how long you are in hospital for? Do you have to stay over night?

Anyone out there with AF and WM had or waiting for catheter ablation?
Having had persistent AF for a year and then identified with Waldenstrome's Macroglobulinaemia in June '14, I await advice to establish the difficulties of catheter ablation. Hyperviscosity is 20 as the blood thickens. Anyone out there with the same problem?

My son's af
I mentioned a week or so ago about my son's experience with his gp regarding his af. I thought (mistakenly) he was getting a bit of a raw deal. Actually, I didn't understand about the timing of a cardioversion, but the hospital staff were right on the button. Today he saw his gp again, and has been referred
