GOOD NEWS
It is now three months since I underwent cardiac ablation for A Fib and A Flutter (the full English you might say) . The procedure wasn't as straightforward as the EP would have liked but I survived and, as far as I can tell , I have been in NSR ever since. I really am enjoying getting back to a degree

Hybrid Ablation
I had the first stage of my ablation two weeks ago, cox maze but with endoscope access through chest. Some of the time early on I felt truly awful, so decided not to post until I had time to settle down and give a proper account (I didn't want to worry anyone about to have the procedure). AF after Catheter Ablation
I am now four months on from my Ablation after AF as high as 180 Bpm. Things are settling down now with heart rate of around 60-70 Bpm. The only thing that kicks it off now is a couple of pints of beer two or three days together. Have overcome this by having couple of pints of bitter shandy when I go

AF Ablation
Hi there ... I'm 52 and been on Meds for 4 years due to AF... I think the Meds are becoming less effective as I have more frequent episodes especially when my heart rate rises due to work or fast walking ect. I think my next step is catheter ablation.. I was wondering if anyone has had this opp and how

My Catheter Ablation Experience
I posted about a year ago about being diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. I had tried using Sotalol to prevent the AF which worked for about a year then I started getting AF episodes again. I then moved onto Bisoprolol and Flecainide which prevented AF for about a further year but I have been experiencing

Hybrid Ablation
Hi All, I have just agreed my future treatment. My AF is probably caused by years of endurance exercise. I had very brief periods of AF while exercising for a couple of years, but which went undiagnosed. My diagnosis came when I went into Persisitant AF in February 2016, since when I have only had

I know this forum is about anemia but I have a question about polycythemia?
Okay so back in April my red blood cell counts were high 5.31(3.70-5.10). Hemoglobin 15.6, hematocrit 46.9. Doctor initially was testing for vitamin D3 deficiency. Had no idea about the red blood cell count he said everything was fine except the D3 deficiency. Now recently I just had a cardiac ablation

Ablation for ectopics?
Hi. Newly joined this forum and have been reading some of the discussion topics on cardiac arrhythmia with interest. My own 'tale of woe': been suffering from atrial ectopics since 1973, which came and went over the years. 'Upgraded' to A.Fib. around 1996, temporarily alleviated by cardioversion several

New research into AF
Hi everyone, although I have had I believe a successful ablation October 2016 as part of a trial lead by Dr Sabine Ernst at the Royal Brompton Hospital London it has not deterred my interest in this rogue condition. I look for new research all the time as I believe there is something that goes much

3 days after Catheter Ablation - Yikes!
I feel actually pretty good except when I lie down to sleep. I can't breathe very well. This is new. I can walk and when I'm up breathing is ok, but at night I haven't slept in 2 days. Feels like small breathing space, have to effort to breathe in over and over. I know I need to rest, and that makes

Waiting for results
Hi, I'm waiting for the results of a large polyp that was removed due to heavy menstral bleeding, dr thought that was the cause and I may not need
endometrial
ablation
after all, but started period yesterday which has been very heavy with flooding and clots so no difference at all.

Ablation with 50% chance of success
Hi just back from Glasgow Royal where I saw an EP cardiologist, my usual cardiologist referred me and had suggested an AV node ablation. Post ablation fatigue
Hello. Just had a rf catheter ablation for wpw and svt about 3 weeks ago, doc said it was successful and went very well and he believed I was done. Usually procedures last last 2-6 hours but mine only lasted about and hour and a half from what my partner said. It was a good experience overall. I didn't

Just been diagnosed with A Fib
Hi Everyone, I have just been diagnosed with Afib. I am on 2.5mg bisoporol and 50mg x2 daily flecanide I am feeling really tired lethargic and panicky at present as I more worried about having a stroke than the afib itself. Doc said he will refer me for Catheter ablation as I am fit and well otherwise
