Doctor wants me to start Hydrea
I am 44 years old. I was diagnosed with ET 3 years ago. My platelet count had been pretty steady at around 700, sometimes it would spike to mid 700s or up to as high as 800. My last visit was 846 and the Doctor began to panic a little bit. She wanted me to start Hydrea 500mg 3 times a week to get things

Lots of Bruising
Hello everyone I hope you are having a good day I have ET, and started taking 2 baby aspirin and 500 mg daily of Hydroxyurea last March ('22) when my platelets reached 1.095 million. Initially I had multiple side effects so my oncologist decided to keep me on the 500 mg dose. My platelets float around

NEWBIE
I have chronic myeloproliferative disease - between ET & prefibrotic myelofibrosis, on HU 500mg per day and 1000mg on Sundays, plus 75mg Aspirin. This is of course on top of all my usual pain medication. I was undiagnosed for 5years until this year in May, my high platelet levels were picked up by chance

at risk of APS
Hi I haven’t been diagnosed with APS syndrome because the rheumatologist stated that I haven’t had a stroke or miscarriage. Thankfully. However, I do have to take aspirin for the rest of my life because I have high antibodies and my mum had this condition. I was wondering what symptoms of this

Confused and anxious
Hi In March I had a slight chest pain which concerned me. GP said all seemed well but referred me to heart clinic. After CT non invasive angiogram it was found I have severe stenosis in LAD, mild in RCA. Put on Samvastatin, Bisoprolol, Aspirin and Monomil. I told Consultant didn't wish to take statins

Strange interaction with Private Health System..?
I had an ecg which my gp flagged up as indicating some problem with my heart. They even sent a paramedic to my home to check I was ok. I feel ok, sometimes a but breathless, occasionally dizzy, but better now I am taking statins and aspirin.Anyway, I made an appt with NHS cardiology. Earliest was next

CT results / PFO
Hi,Having waited 9 weeks for the results of a cardio CT scan due to suspected angina, they have now confirmed there is no furring of the arteries or blockages. They have written to say I should stop the aspirin and beta blockers but remain on the statins. However, I am still left with a racing heart

upset stomach diarrhoea for a month?
I’ve had diarrhoea with stomach cramps for over a month now. Doctor has put me on Fodmap diet which has no gluten, wheat or dairy. I’ve done the diet for over a week now and I’ve got to be on it for 6 weeks. I’ve stuck to it. He gave me anti biotics at the beginning to rule out diviticulitis. It happens

Confusion about MPN. Please help
I posted this on Reddit and a kind user referred me to this forum, so here I am… I’m 36 and have had chronically high platelets since my early 20’s (typically around 525k). To my knowledge, I don’t think my platelets have ever been normal. My PCP has never expressed any concerns, as my other bloodwork

newly diagnosed queries
Hi, recently diagnosed with ET, to say I was shocked is an understatement, as platelets elevated slightly 460 & JAK2 positive results was a surprise to everyone, only med is low dose aspirin. Was wondering if anyone had notice the following symptoms of sometimes difficult in swallowing & breathlessness

Aspirin trials
I have recently finished hormone therapy, last 3 monthly injection April 2023. Good result so far with PSA at <0.01. Met with my Oncologist today and he said there were trials using aspirin as a potential drug to reduce potential recurrence. Has anyone come across this and, even though the results

stopping bisopromol
Hi All, hope you are keeping well. In the last 18 months I’ve paid privately to see the consultant who put the stent inside of me. It started with paying for an echo cardio gram and also a fitness test because I put it down to the meds I was on, but that general feeling of dog****. Fatigued.
