NK cells and pcos -steroids or hydroxychloroquine?
Hi all, I’m under Prof Shehata’s NHS clinic (recurrent miscarriage )and my results showed raised NK cells although activation markers were in range. Everything else pretty good too although AMH was very high which is not necessarily a good thing and suggests that my PCOS is back (was diagnosed approx

Viramin B12 deficiency
I am Jak 2 ET and taking 1000mg hydroxycarbamide daily and 75mg aspirin. I saw my consultant today and he said my vitamin B12 levels were extremely low so I have to have B12 injections every other day for two weeks then one a week for four weeks. I'll be doing another blood test then to see if it's

How frequently do you see your MPN specialist?
Hi all, I'm curious to hear how often you see your MPN specialist and get your platelet level checked. My specialist recently suggested we go from follow ups every 4 months to every 6, as my platelets counts are and have been stable since my diagnosis in late 2022, and indeed since they were first

Undiagnosed: Likely stress cardiomyopathy, MINOCA
I'm in my mid fifties and had an ACS event about four weeks ago (chest pain radiating in a band around my chest and back, weird electrical feelings down both brachial arteries) with raised troponin (100, raising to 1000) and spent four days in hospital. EGC showed inverted T on the bottom line of the

IVF newbie (question about lister and mental health)
Hello, I had a negative this cycle, my 3rd letrozole + trigger + progesterone cycle, it all seemed to look great, two follicles at 25 mm. I haven't felt this low in a while, overall mental health has been low last 15 months we are trying. We tried naturally always. I've been pregnant 3 times last year

Unexplained infertility
Hi I do wonder how many cases of unexplained infertility are actually due to undiagnosed ET and the blood clots that can develop. Is there any research on this? When i was trying to conceive in my late 30’s ( I did eventually have a son) my MPN hadn't been diagnosed, but might well have

New to CAD
I’m 48 years old and just recently had a calcium score done. It’s came back as 312. My cardiologist put me on a statin and told me to take a low dose aspirin 81 mg every day. I was also advised to change my diet and get more cardio exercise. I have changed my diet completely and started riding an exercise

Coated v dispersible aspirin?
Getting conflicting advice from GP and pharmacist. Have recently come off ticagrelor and wanting to come off lansaprazole too ( for malabsorption reasons). Suggested to GP I move to coated aspirin and drop lansaprazole and she said fine. Not sure how much she thought about it. On checking with pharmacist

Flaxseed
Hi there, Been listening to Michael Mosley podcast and benefits of flaxseed. I am taking 90mg ticegrelor, 1.25mg bisoprolol and Aspirin 75mg. Had NStemi 6 months ago and stent fitted. My BP is quite low but considered good. Apparently on a big trial flaxseed didnt reduce BP in those that had low BP

Hi all It’s been a while since I posted on here. But I have a question regarding sleep. I have ET, Jak2, had it 7 years, and at the moment take aspirin and hydroxy. Had my telephone consultation yesterday and was pleased to hear my platelets are the lowest they’ve ever been at 355. Even though I

Salbutamol for Myasthenia
My EMG results were "Normal" so, despite the fact I have chronic muscle weakness that responds to prednisolone, 0.12 nmol/L of anti-AChR antibodies, and have lost my tendon reflexes, my neurologist says I don't have any neurological condition. I also have no detectable inflammation, so my rheumatologist

Aura migraine.
I had another Aura Migraine a couple of nights ago. I took an asprin as soon as I remembered. It’s a bit worrying as I was once told it could mean I could have a stroke. I got rid of my really awful migraines a few years ago but aura migraines took over and although they are not painful they do make

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
Hi Everyone, My husband had a major STEMI in March 2023 with a full blockage of his circumflex artery. He was 44 years old and playing 5-a-side football in a local sports centre when he collapsed without warning. Thank goodness it happened there of all places however, as the swift actions of his team

Tumeric/circumin
Good morning to you all. I wonder if anyone can help with my query. I saw professor Harrison two weeks ago and among things discussed was joint and bone pain. I'm on hydroxy with one 75mg aspirin per day. She mentioned tumeric/circumin that some people find it very helpful and I asked if it was OK
