Natural pregnancy after failed IVF! Should I take low dose asprin?

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are well,

I am on day 26 of my cycle apparently 3 weeks pregnant.

I had a positive test trying naturally while researching IVF clinics, after 2 failed NHS cycles and funding withdrawn due to high FSH. Last transfer failed late feb!

Total shock.

In my research I visited Create for a Doppler Ultrasound - they detected blood resistance in uterine arteries / sub optimal blood flow to woomb. I know asprin is used and sometimes Clexenne.

Any advice so welcome!

I have spoken to Dr but not really getting any help....

Congrats!

Leading up to an FET my clinic also found a slightly constricted blood flow to the uterus and I started taking 75mg/day aspirin from day 10 of my cycle.

I've also found to be with low PAPP-A at the 12 weeks combined screening so since then on 150mg/day, taken at night.

What has your dr said? I would always err on the side of caution and get explicit sign off/recommendations, but unless you have pre-existing conditions, taking these low-dose aspirin is generally considered very safe during pregnancy.

UK pharmacies don't sell you aspirin without prescription if you're pregnant, but I've been taking specific one which is less harsh on the stomach, so I just buy them over the counter not disclosing that I'm pregnant. Both my private IVF clinic & NHS consultants are absolutely fine with it xxx

Thanks so much for your reply.

I haven’t asked the dr yet. I did mean to but got side tracked 🙃

The gp doesn’t seem to know much. I wondered if I should ring the nhs fertility clinic I was discharged from for some advice

I was found to have low PAPP-A at my 12 wk screening so have been on 150mg per day since, at my 20 wk screening I was also found to have a very slight notch in one of my uterine arteries which she expected with the low PAPP-A, the midwife / sonographer said they wouldn’t loose sleep and neither should I. My care hasn’t changed, continue with aspirin & scans from 28wks which I had in place due to the IVF. I would absolutley speak to your dr / midwife / fertility clinic just to get multiple opinions x wishing you lots of luck x
