Is being around vapers OK with AATD?

Hey, hope you're well! I was just wondering if anyone knew whether the vapour from vaping is bad for someone with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD)? Can the chemicals produced by vaping trigger emphysema?

Thanks :D

Short answer would be, not a good idea, vapers could trigger an exacerbation of symptoms.

But see what the Alpha 1 forum folk have to say on the subject : alpha1.org.uk/

:D

Thank you. I don't actually vape myself, I'm just around two people who vape heavily, so I was interested in whether the vapour from their vaping would affect me.

Agree with you there Don1931.

I find both cigarette smoke and vaping fumes upset my gorgeous but temperamental lungs

I agree Don. Cigarettes are now known to be full of noxious poisons, but how many years was it before that became known. Most vapes are oil based. Doesn’t sound healthy to me!
