Hi guys, survived my day at Papworth yesterday, very tiring but what a marvellous experience for someone with ILD. Prognosis is Organising Pheumonia or NSIP - both names that mean little to me but I'm finding out about them. The staff at the hospital were absolutely fantastic. Please, anyone going to one of these places do not be too scared, they understand and take great care of you. I read a post on here about recently being diagnosed with emphysema and being scared stiff, I was the same for at least a month, imagining how I could leave my husband and pets, all the things we were going to do when we retired. Then I thought, well this disease is a part of me, I'm not giving up that easily and I'm not ready to go yet. We all have a lot of living to do my friends. The following quote helps me a lot: "Fear does not stop death, it stops life and worrying does not take away tomorrows troubles. It takes away todays peace." We all have our bad days, our fears and out illnesses but we are all still here! With the support of our medical teams and our families and our wonderful friends, especially on this site, we can get along OK. Hugs to you all xxxxx

Glad it went well, and really like that quote, I think I may have to put it somewhere prominent to remind me !! xx And hugs to you too xx
Hi Kimlu . 😊👋
What a relief to get a diagnosis😁👏. The good news is many patients with nonspecific interstitial pneumonia respond well to treatment , namely corticosteroids. Do you have the fibrotic type of cellular type? I believe you are in good hands at Papworth. You are right , we do not fight against disease , we can't really, we live with it and make the most of it. Have a lovely weekend. Best wishes to you.

So glad things went well for you Kimlu, it sounds like you have faced your fears and now on the road to tackle your illness. I hope all goes well for you and you stay positive x
Hi Kimlu Delamere here. Loved your fear does not stop death it stops life quite. I had a very difficult discussion with my GP at the beginning of the outbreak which left me feeling alone vulnerable and shook my faith and trust in the NHS. This quote reminds me how strong we can be with the right attitude and support so thank you and stay safe x
Thanks for the update Limlu. Pleased all went well. x
