Introduction and Hi
The final diagnosis was Pneumonia with a Pulmonary
Embolism
on my lung. My ECG also showed I had Atrial Fibrillation. As a result I was given antibiotics to treat the Pneumonia and put on Rivaroxaban (Anticoagulation) drugs to combat the risk of further embolisms.

Taking Aspirin for Your Heart? How to Make It Even More Effective?
There has been some press lately, at least in the USA on adding rivaroxaban (Xarelto) to your daily aspirin regimen, as a result of new studies. I am sure some of you have seen this press. I intend to raise the issue with my cardiologist, in that I am taking Xarelto, so I need to ask him should I add

Nintedanib trial
I am worried that the pulmonary
embolism
that I had after surgery will make me ineligible. Has anyone been on this trial please. I suspected it was back but it is not a good day.

Air embolism with compressed air
At my work place we have loads of compressed air guns that we use for our jobs, before today I was unaware how dangerous air embolisms actually are. After my shift at work I would use it to clean the dust of my clothes, I started messing about with it and pointed it at a bite on my arm, it popped the

Chronic chest pain that won't go away
No filling defects are identified to suggest pulmonary
embolism
. Minimal peripheral ground glass opacities are noted in the upper lung zones bilaterally which may reflect mild pneumonitis. No focal dense infiltrate is identified. IMPRESSION: 1.

coughing up blood
The doctor ordered a CT scan the day after surgery to rule out pulmonary
embolism
. They said it was a "low probability" so that's good but I'm still scared. Anyone ever hear of this?

Mum is stage 4. Mets to bones and adrenals. Feeling hopeless.
She also has a pulmonary
embolism
which is just being treated now as it was previously missed on a scan. We had another oncologist appointment yesterday to organise a dose of radiotherapy to the spine as my mum has been in very severe pain.

Long Term loser (read that how you will) :)
I lost emy husband 2.5 years ago to a Pulmonary
Embolism
, and since then my son has been terrified that I am going to die as well because I am obese. I am going through the 4healthyweight program which, if you have not heard of it, is run by the NHS and I would recommend it heartily.

Renewed DVT
Pulmonary
Embolism
, using Warfarin. This time I'm taking 30 mg daily of Xarelto for three weeks then shall be on 20mg rivaoxaban daily thereafter. A simpler process, avoiding weekly blood tests.
