Well after all does weight really matter
Have just come off my first (and last ) cruise and I was staggered at the amount of people who were not just overweight but obese . Having carefully watched my weight for years and low fat diet plus plenty of exercise it didn’t stop me needing a bypass at 76 . So what am I missing I keep asking myself

Alpha fetoprotein test for cirrhosis patients??
Hi, is it standard for this test to be done every 6 months with the liver scan? I've just had my bloods done (post liver scan and pre consultant appointment) and spotted that I have been tested for this for the first time and the results are hidden from my Patient Knows Best account ... should I be worried

Carb cravings and - Muffins!
Just a short one. One of the problems with transitioning to a largely low carb high fat lifestyle is the inevitable craving for bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. When I was a child it was only bread and potatoes - pasta was largely unknown, and rice was a pudding. Anyway, many, many low carb recipes

Test and Trace?
Daft question perhaps, but is Test and Trace still in operation? I thought all that was finished with until today when I received a text message purporting to be from the NHS. It said I'd been in contact with an infected person, and that I should order a PCR test. I'm reluctant to click on the link,

Low Protein Diet
I'm starting a low protein diet and allowed 46 grams a day. I have a few questions: (1) does this allowance involve both plant and animal protein; (2] if it involves plant protein, does the plant protein have to be "complete " proteins or just any proteins; (3) if I only eat 30 grams on a day, can

Memory worsening
I have recently increased my dose from 25/50 alternate days to 50 every day. My memory is worsening. I completely forgot my husband’s birthday today although I know I remembered it a few days back. I was writing my Dads birthday card last week and wrote To and then couldn’t remember what I was doing.

Private GP? Can they help?
Hi all, I have ordered a private blood tests this morning thanks to this group. Long story short I’m on 75mg of LEVO and have been for 6 years. I have been working with a PT on a calorie controlled gluten free diet for over 6 weeks with little results. The PT suggested I looked into T3 conversation

How to Increase BDNF
So somebody over on FB posted they were taking BDNF for PD anxiety (or maybe just for anxiety) so I Googled and found BDNF = Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor and BDNF supplements do not contain Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor. But I did find this article on strongcoffee.com. https://strongcoffeecompany.com

Dipyridamole, Adenosine and RLS (Oh My)
Warning, this stuff below is boring. Read only if you have insomnia. I am trying to understand the effects of Dipyridamole and Adenosine in RLS. In reading all the papers, I have been taking notes. It's interesting to me that some of the things I have been reading about are quite common to read

How do you all get your calories on a low protein diet?
My husband is trying to eat as low protein as possible while still eating healthy and getting 2000 calories per day. He's only 142 pounds so he cannot afford to lose weight. We found on Kidney.org that is says to add syrup from canned fruit or to eat candy. We think that that is terrible advice. Anyone
