Hi all

Well what a week that was had a ERCP on the transplanted liver graft , which I received pre covid thank goodness in March 2019

So had a stent put in on a narrowed bile duct and to say it hurt is an understatement, they sedated me but the pain was almost unbearable to a degree that I nearly had them stop it, but luckily I dug deep and got through it, they mentioned that I’ll have it removed in three weeks time but not sure if I heard them correctly as it’s took over a week to recover and wondering why it can’t be left in

If anyone has had the same procedure can you shed any light on if I heard them properly and they do remove them

P.s hope everyone is fine

Hi yes they do remove it , but I don’t understand why it hurt I was under general anaesthetic ok they put four in but I was on the impression that they put you out, I might be very wrong. I do have complications such as an ileostomy bag which is were I found three of the stents two days later, when I went to the A&E with these long curly things and said I think I have passed my stent’s they started to say no you can’t when I put them on the counter obviously cleaned and in a plastic zipper bag. I still had one left in they found after a CT scan. But I found it was quite painful when I woke up when they put them in (but due to covid was delayed taking them out ) not painful at all, they have to take them out because of infection risk. Sorry such a long reply but main thing is it was easier taking them out than putting them in, good luck and please don’t worry 👍.Stay Safe All
