Looking for an alternative to Warfarin. Vitamin E therapy?
I’ve tried a couple of the NOACs (Pradaxa and
Eliquis
) but experienced side effects. I now want to explore Vitamin E therapy. Can I please get feedback from anyone on this forum who is taking Vit E as a blood thinner. Thanks so much, Jules 🙏

Medications that are BAD for your bones?
Newer anticoagulants that don’t inhibit vitamin K such as Pradaxa® (dabigratan), Xarelto® (rivaroxaban),
Eliquis
® (apixaben) and Arixta appear to be safer for the skeleton than Warfarin or heparin.

Living in Afib
I am on
Eliquis
and Sotalol now. The doctor tells me I need to exercise and lose weight. I was scared to start exercising because I am in and out of afib all the time. I wore a heart monitor for about a month.

Advice needed. New to AFIB.
I take
Eliquis
also. Lately, I have extra beats. I hear them with a stethoscope. I don’t feel them much. Some nights are worst. I also skip beats. That I feel like a punch in the chest that moves up to my face. Can’t miss this one.

Paroxismal Afib, diet and lifestyle
Plus I have cut my high blood pressure medication in half, and plan to ask my cardiologist to go for "pill in the pocket" for Flecainide (I do not know if it is reasonable for
Eliquis
).

Should I stop Eliquis?
There is no approved antidote for
Eliquis
if one happened to be in an accident. Maybe hospitals do have a special unapproved treatment, I don't know.
Eliquis
is very convenient but is it worth it? Warfarin you can counteract with Vit K.

Eliquis and grapefruit
I have just started
Eliquis
and am confused about grapefruit. The Bristol Meyers website says nothing and I have read postings that their agents say there is no problem. But other websites like WebMD advise against it, What is the prevailing wisdom.

Finally got around to posting my story
What scares me the most is discontinue
eliquis
2 days prior to cath and 4 days prior to valve repair. I don't know why they waited 8 months for surgery to take place or why we did a T test after the echo. Surgeons referenced echo only when siting needed repair/replace.

How many days would you forfeit your blood thinner?
When I got to her office to pick up the paperwork, she told me to stop the
Eliquis
for 72 hours. When I inquired as to restarting the
Eliquis
, she said 2 days later!! That's 5 days without the blood thinner. What do you people think??? You have given me good advice in the past; please weigh in!!

6 months post ablation and off Eliquis - occasional pint.
My EP says that eventually I will have to get back to
Eliquis
down the road as age takes it's toll but in the meantime I have some years drug free - he doesn't know how many. It was a turbulent year.
