Diagnostics tests clear but still having seizures!
Hello everyone, I’ll try and keep it brief as possible but currently feeling at a loss and not sure how to continue. Had my first tonic clonic seizure in 2019 during a medical congress. Lots of GP/doctors around and eventually ambulance was called and brought to hospital. CT scan clear but referred

Not what I was expecting.
So yesterday I went for my needle biopsy, I arrived with time for a coffee in hand and was rather grateful for that (pro tip) if you are going to a appointment at Shrewsbury hospital on a Monday morning, park on Sunday night. After a bit of creative parking on a bit of grass I went to the outpatient surgery

2 year old Toddler with RLS
Hi there! Came here out of desperation. My soon to be 2 year old has had terrible sleep since day 1. He is extremely hyperactive, and would be up in the middle of the night for hours. We tried every natural syrup or solution recommended by doctors. Finally saw a neurologist and he suggested RLS. We are

I had I seizure in 2010 and my MRI was clear, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t have an EEG. I was put on Epilim chrono 1200 mg and have been seizure free since. I went privately so looks like they just signed me off and I never got any NHS follow ups. About a year ago I went back to my GP and asked due

How Long Does it Take to Regain a Full State of Consciousness After a Medically Induced Coma?
Hello, My dad (aged 64) was recently admitted to the ICU on June 3rd. When he first arrived at the ER after suffering aphasia and impaired memory, the doctors found a lesion on his temporal lobe. Shortly thereafter he suffered a grand mal seizure. After the seizure the doctors were having difficulty

Help with blood test interpretation for my daughter
Hello Everyone, I'm new here and asking for my 18 year old daughter. I've come over from the Thyroid UK forum at their suggestion. She's been quite unwell for about 3-4 years slowly getting worse. We've been stuck with unhelpful medics both private and NHS who have not got anywhere with her symptoms

Repeated episodes of unconsciousness due to potential Thyroid Storm?
I am currently taking 125mcg T4, and 18.75mcg T3 split into two daily doses (overall, 2/3 of a 25mcg tablet of T3). I’ve been taking T3 for around 5 years now. In terms of feeling better, it’s been a *huge* success. However, I’ve also been having episodes of unconsciousness over the past 5 years

epilepsy and restless leg syndrome
I’m just wondering is there a link between RLS and epilepsy? My parents had RLS as do I and my siblings. My husband occasionally gets it too. There’s no history of epilepsy in either of our families but our daughter has started having tonic clonic seizures in her early 20’s, she has never drank , smoked

Update on my wife
Hello everyone, my wife (Jackie) was diagnosed with MSA after an initial diagnosis of PSP on 29th Jan 2023. Now the Neurologist is trying to say her condition is Perplexed and that Wilsons disease is a possibility. She's been to have her eyes tested at Vision Express and after a thorough (90mins) examination

3 years later
I know it's 3 years later but I wanted to write this in case someone needed to see. This thread helped me so much when my dad was in the ICU on a ventilator. When they took my dad off of sedation he didn't wake up right away. He is a peritoneal dialysis patient and drugs leave his system much slower.

Still no diagnosis Following Syncope!
Hi, just over a year ago I collapsed whilst driving. Miraculously my wife brought the car to a halt and we are still here to tell the tale. Since then, I have had every test you could imagine and a loop recorder fitted last March which has picked up about four episodes of AT and VT, mostly when I am

4 MRI’s done & 1 more to go.
Last Thursday I had a brain & carotid head MRI & an EMG Test done. Today I had a carotid neck & cervical MRI done. Tomorrow I will have an EEG test done & Thursday I will have a Lumbar MRI done. I am not sure why I am not getting a Thoracic MRI done. Anyways…test results so far: 1. EMG test…nerves

Dad not waking up from induced coma after Sudden Cardiac Arrest, What are his chances? Signs of 'waking up'?
My Dad is 54 years old and collapsed at work last Friday 03/03/2023 from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. No symptoms, no chest pains, no warning signs. He is moderately fit, not a heavy drinker but is a heavy smoker and they found a blocked valve that had built up for months allegedly due to the smoking. His

FINALLY had my 1st Neurologist appointment today…..
and I don’t like my Doctor. He kept cutting me off and kept saying everything is due to Migraines or COVID or premenopausal. Kinda being condescending. Like half the symptoms I said he would say oh we all have that! even me! For example: muscle twitching, stabbing pains everywhere,, shaking, Major fatigue
