NT-proBNP test shows over 1800 (2,255) Does it indicate heart failure?

Blood tests
Hi I have just switched over from antiplatelet Clopidogrel to anticoagulant EDOXABAN following detection of AF on a LINQ ECG implant. My GP has asked me to get a blood test and is suggesting tests every 3 months. I thought a benefit of the drug was no need for blood tests. Anyone got experience to

Hypertensive Urgency/Emergency Blood Pressure >180/120
In the UK we are advised by NHS 111 or our GP to head to the A&E department if our blood pressure spikes greater than 180/120 and there are one or more additional symptoms. This happened to me twice in the past 6 months (never happened before this in 20 years). The first time it hit around 250/120 and

Hi there. Nice to meet you. Don't be anxious. It doesn't hurt. And it will go away.
Good evening. My name is Michael and I just joined looking for a place to find support for those struggling with anxiety and depression. Some of my first anxiety attacks were on my Birthright Israel trip in late May of 2011. I knew I was depressed since about the second half of 2008, having my first

Is flecainide a good drug?
I have been very low profile of late because I had nearly two years free of AF - then it came back last Wednesday with a vengeance and refused to go away... This resulted in a trip to the doctor's and then A&E on Thursday because the rate was quite high, blipping up to 150+ bpm. To cut a long story

Living With A-Fib Questions
Hi All, I was diagnosed with A-Fib only a few weeks ago so everything is still very new and a bit bewildering. I think I was first aware that something wasn't right around 3 months ago when I noticed I got much more out of breath walking up a hill then I would normally be. A couple of days later I noticed

Just Diagnosed With Atrial Fibrillation
A couple of months ago I noticed I was getting out of breath when walking, not badly so but needing to breath more than the activity would normally warrant. Then a few weeks ago I noticed that with the breathlessness my chest also felt tight, although it actually felt like it was more around the diaphragm

What the heck is wrong with me?
I haven't posted in awhile. I was turned down a second time for disability. My depression is to a point I don't want to talk anybody. The letter said "I maybe sad and forgetful" SAD! SAD! FORGETFUL! FORGETFUL! Everyday I deal with an illness that attacks my will live. I've had 21 rounds of old school

Trodelvy and dizziness
Hello everyone! I haven’t posted in awhile because I have been trying to make it through my new chemo regime. I am on Trodelvy and seemed to hit the jackpot in experiencing lots of the side affects. I have had one full cycle of it. ( 2 doses at 100 percent strength). Lots of nausea that I don’t

Kardia ECG Monitor
Thanks to the person who recommended this, but I just need to let you all know that, after struggling for some time to make it work, I found it was not compatible with my Samsung phone, so I have had to send it back. So I would advise that anyone thinking of buying one should check compatibility first

Reaction to ecg lead stickers from CPET yesterday
Yesterday I had a CPET , in preparation for having the heart monitor leads attached they used a very coarse wipe to clean the areas where the stickers go to enable the best connection , it was like having sandpaper rubbed on my skin . Anyway my skin felt a bit sore where I had the stickers placed and

Your cancer treatment record
Just before my o&v treatment commenced I was given ‘your cancer treatment record’ a little blue book, supplied by cancer research uk, as a place to jot treatments, questions, symptoms ect. I’d actually forgotten about it and wrote a small diary of my treatment. Yesterday I was reminded of it as I spoke

Hi all, I have PV and AB is high , around 81% , spleen size slightly increased but if I didn’t know I have PV I would think I am the healthiest person around as I have no symptoms. I was diagnosed end of 2018 but had it al least since 2015. I am considering taking a part in clinical trial for Ruxo and

Hi all and thank you in advance for reading. I am a healthy 34 year old woman and was admitted to hospital 7 weeks ago with severe chest, jaw, back and arm pain. Very scary! My troponin levels were 208 so they kept me in for 3 days. All other tests - ECG, echo and CT all clear. I refused an MRI due
