Health Check: can you treat the common cold?
Remedies examined include:
Echinacea
Garlic Vitamin C Zinc http://theconversation.com/health-check-can-you-treat-the-common-cold-25323 I half jokingly hold that garlic works because people don't want to be near you; thus lessening your risk of catching their cold.

Daily Laughter New years Day Special Edition
You check the ingredients on a can of chicken noodle soup to see if it contains
Echinacea
. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home. You buy a computer and a week later it is out of date and now sells for half the price you paid.

Home Remedies for Asthma
Drinking herbal tea made from a teaspoon of chamomile flower, mullein leaves, passionflower leaves and
Echinacea
root and boiling it in water is very effective to get rid of asthma symptoms. Do you suffer from asthma attacks regularly?

To try and counteract these worries, I bought some effervescent
Echinacea
tablets from Holland and Barratt earlier in the week and have been dosing up on those, vitamins and iron tablets and they seemed to be effective in fighting off the germs.

Does anyone else have to check cough and cold medicines for certain ingredients ?
At the time I had no idea that
Echinacea
is best avoided by Lupus patients and I had been having a fair amount thinking it was helping my immune not making it worse. Are there any other ingredients you find trigger your lupus off at all in cold medicines ?

Echinacea
(and spirulina) have been seen to stimulate autoimmune flares in some patients. I guess spirulina could be a problem because of the iodine content.
